Posted - 28/08/2008 : 10:29:07 I trust everyone has recovered and those with medals are proudly wearing them? So, where shall we go next?(to coin a phrase) - well, in keeping with the outdoor theme and knowing your all at your 'peak' fitness wise how about another outdoor activity? Right?..yes?...ok, this coming weekend you are all invited down (or up in a couple of cases) to Oxfordshire for a spot of potato picking I have arranged this in conjunction with our local farmer Mr Giles, who is desperatly short-staffed at the moment due to his wife running off with Adge the combine harvester driver, and two of his daughters getting pregnant by Bill the cowpoke Mr Giles will put you up for the weekend and supply meals at Manor Farm. The meals will be provided by ex-nurse Belinda who now works for Mr Giles. She came to the farm after Mr Giles broke both his arms last January and was hospitalised for 5 weeks. Nurse Belinda was his 'right hand' for all this time With the threat of MRSA and poor pay Belinda was poached from the NHS and now almost runs the Manor farmhouse. She is a brilliant cook. Anyway...back to the spuds - there are 3 fields full of them - you will be supplied with overalls, a knife and a good supply of buckets. The foreman 'Spud Sid' will give you all the training required, and will be on hand 24/7 in case of problems. You will all be allowed a 56k sack of spuds to take home (excellent for chips etc). Some of you I know have been here before for village open days and will know where Manor Farm is situated, but for first time visitors you turn left after the railway bridge into Church Lane - the farm is next to the church on the left. see you Saturday morning then?

Posted - 16/08/2008 : 14:03:49 Yep they are- another gold and bronze coming our way! .
As far as 2012 is concerned, I'm happy to participate in any of the events except for swimming- remember what happened when we were all in the water last time? ....and that was a duck pond! .
Mind you, if I manage to score a double gold in an event, d'ya think I may stand a chance of being promoted from a Diva to a Dame too?

Posted - 16/08/2008 : 08:23:02 I'm sorry to say I didn't join the medals table Heather was a nightmare! Firstly her good leg turned out to be allergic to the heat of Bejing, so she decided she'd use the one she had made in Harrods with her 'winnings' from Paul. This was not a good idea as wood presever leaked into the sack resulting us sqelching to a dissapointing 9th place...just above Rolf Harris. She then had a 'hissy-fit' and stormed off dragging me behind as we were still in the sack I do hope the 'News of the World' didn't get the picture. This will be the last time I enter a sports competition unless the prize includes pickled onions. I, eventually got back and spent the rest of the day with Trek, musing over what could have been. Of course old 'GOLDIElocks Pen' was prancing around dazzling everyone with the reflection off her medal - along with the tiara she looked like something off a Christmas tree. WE ARE NOT JEALOUS Anyway - not to be too 'down' we went out for an 'English'.
TOOTLE P.S - Our next trip will be in a country that uses knives and forks. |

Posted - 15/08/2008 : 22:48:01 It was Redina Chucaneski what hit Pen with the golf ball..she scored
a no throw as it was out of the area and was disqualified..which left moi and 2 chinese women,
Yang and Ying. These 2 managed to fling the golf ball 20 metres and 21 metres, so being the last to throw I was all set when all hell broke loose as the medics came rushing into the stadium to ship Pen off to Bojangles A & E.
Whilst all this was goin on my golf ball got nicked...I reckon by Ying so unfortunately I was disqualified.
So it all down to Tootle in the 3 legged race

Posted - 14/08/2008 : 23:58:18 Well look like my news has been greeted with a Wall of Silence.
I think I might withdraw from the sack race.
By the way, we're all down for the 'Tug Of War'.. ...against CHINA!..

Need I say more?..
Of course I'll say more, whenever do I use one word when I can use fifty?
I know that you'll lap ( ) this up anyway.
First off, the race was only shown in the Upper regions of outer Mongolia and the Rainforests of Southern Siam.
This was due to the fact that China did NOT have a competitor in this event..."Not in the public interest" they kept repeating.
Anyway,it went like this: The four of us stood quivering and quaving on the start line, and the gun was fired!..
At first I looked around thinking that a madman had secreted himself in the stadium, but as the others ran past me, I realised that the race had started!...
I scrambled my way to the front, and managed to poach first place.
As I did so, I was knocked unconscious by a stray golf ball..I won't say it was Treks ball, but I have my suspicions...
nuff said.
This is why I'm late with my report, A+E in Bojangles is nothing to write home about, but at least they had me sorted within 14hrs.
So,Toots I didn't let the side down, and managed to spread some brochures and Leaflets about your 'Tours' amongst the twenty strong crowd...
Life just don't get much better than this, does it?...

Posted - 14/08/2008 : 10:12:52 I've checked the tv, teletext and daily papers, but alas I can find no report on the egg and spoon olympic race How did our Pen do? You don't think she turned left outside the stadium and finished on the Great Wall !...if that's the case we won't see her for months

Posted - 13/08/2008 : 21:51:45 I've just spoken to Heather Mills (McCartney), and she's keen to join me in the three-legged race Can you enter us?..I think we will 'walk it'.

Posted - 13/08/2008 : 21:09:30 The rest of you can come ..there is still time to enter events.
There is 1 vacancy in the Beach ping pong ball event. 1 vacancy in hop and skip event...so you don't need to practise the jump bit.
Plenty of rooms available at Hung Wong's B & B with a good view..smog permitting of the Marathon course...so we can all wave the flag and cheer on Paula.

Posted - 13/08/2008 : 19:25:16 I've posted off a small Rhode Island Red's egg today to Pen in Plon Pen. Also to Trek some birds nest soup. Both are in rather soggy jiffy bags - thanks to the franking machine in the post office Whilst I applaud there efforts, why are they going 'solo'?....what about us???

Posted - 13/08/2008 : 15:36:09 Thanks for the tips... which have enabled me to dream up a cunning plan.
I will use a soup ladle, with a small, organic brown, Rhode Island Red, egg.
This should help me sprint down the 100metres with Panache and Style.
Panache is the Canadian Competitor and Style is from South East Malaysia.
They will come second and third respectively. Its all sorted.
I just can't wait 'til Midnight, when the race will be run.
The Quietly Confident PEN xx
PS.. I'm having the devils own job, trying to buy a small Rhode Island Chicken's egg, here in Bojangles.
But fear not!... I will come up with the goods, when it counts. |

Posted - 13/08/2008 : 04:38:06 organic brown egg -everybody knows they go faster- small egg /large spoon works best a plastic spoon, leave the family silver at home if you would the egg must be fresh, prefrably laid by a small rhode island red hen, corn fed of course ultra tight skinny outfit in lycra obviously in Team GB colours - optional go faster cycling helmet (sorry no tiara's) and diving goggles are preferred attire of course Dave d standing by with the gold polish oh and those nails Pen they will have be trimmed too, less wind resistance and in the thought of health and safety we cant have any other competitors impaled on them in the event of an accident can we
PS is it true that heather mcartny and latest partner are representin team GB in the three legged race

Posted - 13/08/2008 : 00:02:31 I'm taking this very seriously I'll have you know.
I'm determined not to let Team GB down.
I fact I'm in training as we 'speak'
I just have one problem.
Do I use an, Organic Free Range, large, small, or medium egg?..
No-one has given me any guidance on this.

Posted - 11/08/2008 : 18:00:28 Has anyone caught the Egg and Spoon race yet? ...hope I haven't missed it Pen had better watch out for Japan's entry Itsno Yolk as he holds the record currently, and is rumoured to cheat using a hard boiled egg out of the shell!
Good luck Pen....you might just need it!

Posted - 10/08/2008 : 15:01:10 Typical!...I missed the raffle - due, to no fault of my own. You see I ordered a 'small 63' expecting chinese roast chicken slices in a bamboo sauce with egg fried rice...what did I get?...I got Mayling on a plate! It was something to do with the translation as she IS 63 and SMALL Hoo Flun Dung wasn't too peased, and while we were trying to sort out the cafuffle Ho Chin Min came in the raffle tickets and missed me completely Now, old 'tiara chops' is sailing on the seven seas on her way to China..on the back of a ticket than could have been mine I don't really care as I've still got her 'smog-mast' in my rucksack. I'm going to look out for her on tv - she'll be easy to spot as she will be 2ft taller than the rest of the home crowd. We HAVE got 1 gold medal, but I doubt if there will be another by time the ship docks. Ah so!
