I seem to remember seeing Dusty on top of the pops I think as a backing singer with another band it was aired just before she died and was a big hit. Has any one the video of this or have they any better recolections than mine.

Thanks

Isn't that the South of France for the Charles Aznavour special? Great clip!

Love Jonathan

I'm surprised there hasn't been more comment on this...

LOL! Dave... I've never been so pleased to be wrong.

What a great find..and a totally opposite vid to the Roll Away one in both atmosphere and the lack of 'symbolism.'..

Dusty looks and sounds mighty fine...After all she has got 'Love Power' ....

I see the sea puts in another appearance though..

BANG!!!
Carole R. Posted - 26/03/2008 : 11:53:27
Somebody may 'shoot' me for asking this...

But is the 'Roll Away' video the only one where Dusty is filmed singing/miming actually 'outside'in the open air?.

I just can't think of another right now.

Thank you so much, Frans, for posting the Roll Away video. I have a close friend who has made me swear I will let every one in her family know that she wants Roll Away to be played at her funeral. I keep telling her she's going to out live everybody.

The kids and the white horse have to do with the movie. I remember seeing Into the West a couple of times and I've completely forgotten the significance of the white horse.

uh, I teared up quite a bit watching the video and reading that article about how is was made. Sadly, I think Dusy always did feel alone inside. I'm sure it took so much energy to be around people and yet no one really wants to be alone - even if they say they prefer it.

Thanks again..

I LOVE the clip for Roll Away,I only managed to see it 2-3 days ago. I was sitting there crying my eyes out! :). Dusty looks absolutely gorgeous in it. I think there is a lot of symbolism going on in it, I mean the children may be a symbol of innocence or 'yesterday'. The horse could symbolise roaming free... it also could be a horse for effect mind you or a representation of Dusty's love of animals :).

Very interesting thread

That clip is from The 'Dusty Definitely' Documentary which was aired on BBC soon after Dusty's Death, Jack.

Its lovely isn't it?..

Sadly,I don't think we have got any videos of Dusty actually singing Goin' Back...

I think you're all reading too much into it, just enjoy it and relax.

I still think Roll Away is one of the most beautiful songs Dusty recorded and I wish it had gone to number one for her!
