So... Dusty Day is over for another year, but for those of us who went, what are the 'stand out' moments for you?
The ones that you'll keep in your minds eye and remember fondly and forever?..

I've been pondering this question for a while now and I've come up with a couple of standout moments - but they were from the days leading up to Dusty Day 2008.
The most unforgettable moment:
Saturday afternoon, Jen and I were taking a break from our Kitchen Wench duties at Jonathan's place - kickin' back on the couch, drinking tea, listening the Madeline and Jonathan as they rehearsed. During the first song (YDHTSYLM, maybe?), a moment before the backing vocals usually come in, Madeline suddenly pointed at US!! No misinterpreting THAT signal! We were put into action as on-the-spot backing singers!  No time for discussion - start ooh-ing and ahh-ing...NOW!! (Yeah, I know...what WAS she thinking??  )
Later, I started telling Madeline about how much I now appreciated the artists that were popular when we were kids - and the artists that influenced them. She hooked up her Ipod to speakers and played us the Ray Charles songs that she recorded with a swingin' big jazz band when the movie "Ray" was released in Europe a few years ago. (They toured and played a concert of Ray's tunes in huge auditoriums after the movie was shown.) Hearing her point out her favorite passages of each song, telling us about the musicians who were playing them and sharing her emotions about how it felt to sing in front of such a fabulous band was priceless.

Highlights for me was meeting old friends and meeting some people for the first time.
Listening again to Madeline and Simon and of course meeting Katy and hearing her sing live.
Being around fellow Dusty fans is always a joy and I did manage to visit Henley too.
Going to the RAH was a bonus--my first time...and hopefully not the last.

Gee there were so many outstanding moments and meeting so many people.
I try to take it in order.
Standing by Dusty's stone in Henley is always extremely touching to me. Michael had to pull me away in the end. I get misty just thinking about it.
I first stopped Pat and she told me she would be right back in a couple of mintues. Sure enough she came back looking for me. We had a lovely conversation.
I went over to introduce myself to Katy and asked for several autographs. She almost seemed embarrassed at first. With her talent, I do think she has a brillant career ahead of her. I told her that I hope to see her in Vagas. As the day went on, Katy seemed to get more and more comfortable. I got a big good-bye kiss from her.
Madeline and I became fast friends when I told her I was from New Jersey. At one point, Simon was kidding Madeline on stage and said everyone from New Jersey is worthless. She shouted out Marty where are you, help me!! I yelled out Simon watch it, she isn't the only one from New Jersey. You know Simon later on that night came over and personally apologized to me. I told him in no way was offended and I knew it was all in good fun and told me I hope I didn't offend him. I got several big hugs from Simon. He is a real hoot!
I wish I could personally speak with Madeline again. After talking with her, I felt as if we were life long friends.
I was very happy when so many of you came over and introduced yourself to me. Far too many people to mention. I tried to introduce myself to as many people as I could that I recognized.
I enjoyed everyone's performance. Thought everyone was at their best. I don't think you were able to see a dry eye in the house when Katy sang "All I See Is You." Thought Simon did a fantastic version of "I Can't Make It Alone", I always loved that song. I loved the duet by Simon and Katy "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", of course my favorite duet with Dusty and Michael Ball. Also loved Simon and Madeline singing "Private Number" and enjoyed all three of them singing "I Only Want To Be With You."
I hope I didn't leave anyone or anything out.
The day went by so quickly.

Yup, Barbara and I thoroughly enjoyed DD too!.......it was to meet people I hadn't met before!

I had never before been to Dusty Day. But I am *so* glad that I went to this one - it was an utterly fantastic day and I loved every second of it. I only wish it had lasted a week instead of a day. There were many personal highlights for me...
Meeting everyone and now being able to put a face and a voice to the name..
Hugging Katy Setterfield, who is simply lovely..
Listening to that astonishing musical set - that alone was more than worth the price of the ticket..
Hearing Katy sing live in front of me..
Hearing Madeleine, who I had not heard before, and who was incredible (fantastic lady, too) ..
Buying the 'beehive' portrait in the auction..
There were so many fantastic memories and so many really wonderful people, lots of laughter, numerous hugs and smiles, and now all followed up with the anticipation of next years' event. I can't wait for that.

Speaking to Madeline Bell, she is wonderful! And seeing her sing woow!

Meeting you Carole Trek Janie Vera TMak Sarah...great!, also Will In Scotland and Jonathan Cohen they were lovely, and soo friendly, they made you feel instantly welcome.
I spoke mainly to people who are not part of the forum, i was standing next to a Paul from Manchester, 2 ladies from Hampstead in London, four women sitting outside and i only remember one name Breda...but they were AbFab!
I didn't know anyone else, but enjoyed it all, and if possible will come again next year
