Carole - I hate to disagree with you - but I will I think the 'hit' by Jim Reeves your thinking about was 'Welcome to my world'? Eddy Arnold DID have a hit in the UK with 'Make the world go away' - reaching number 8 in February 66. He spent a total of 17 weeks on the chart. It was his only top ten hit, although 2 more made the top 50 -'I want to go with you' (46 in June 66) and 'If you were mine Mary (49 in July 66). He had a lovely 'rich' voice, but was a 'lil bit too country' for most British tastes at the time.
RIP Eddy
