So...what was the first single record (cd or 45) that you ever bought?

Remember?

If you do...don't keep it a secret.

Tell us!

I tended to buy albums not singles.

Hey REPUTATION - Have you received your telegram from the Queen yet?

'Dance with the devil' by Cozy Powell was a top 3 hit in '73

Brian.

That's the one - thanks Brian

My first must have been a Beatles single - probably "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" - when I was 11 years old. My first single record by a female artist was "I Only Want To Be With You".

At my request my Mum bought be 'Build Me Up Buttercup' by the Foundations.

My first personal record shop purchase (via a record token) was 'Ride a White Swan' by T.Rex.

Memphis in London

Ever since we met you've had a hold on me. It's crazy but it's true...

I quite liked some of their records, didn't the singer pass away some years ago?

My first single was "At The Hop" by Danny and the Juniors (late 50's era). I had a playmate that had older sisters and we use to watch the early American Bandstand shows from Phildadelphia together.

Hey the first record I bought was a 78, at that time you could buy singles in both 78's which were being withdrawn or 45. Ruby Murray & Connie Francis were some of our first records.

I do remember our first album was the soundtrack to South Pacific.
