Posted - 18/05/2008 : 20:00:10 I was thinking... dangerous sport... I got an idea while I was eating at one of the diners yesterday... It's called "The Star Diner" in Kentlands in Maryland. Anywho, after ordering my Eggs Benedict and juice I noticed the table juke box where a Quarter will buy you a song... well, I looked for Dusty. No Dusty. Ended up selecting "Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash, then I thought wouldn't it be so neat to open up a Dusty Diner and evertything is related to Dusty! There would be posters of varying sizes of our Dusty and her music playing throughout the diner. (I suppose other artists could be played)? Anyway, the menu you could feature some of her favorite foods - breakfast, lunch and dinner... What does any of you think? Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas!

Funny you should ask that Carole as I had mine made for a Stateside wedding a few years ago. This time around as we were having a drink in that restaurant I said to my cousin I wonder if they are true to Scotland in their attire as I was at the wedding - she almost choked on her drink and told me she really didn't need to hear that.
You know the old saying let your dingle dangle!!!! |

Posted - 16/06/2008 : 20:57:50 This is straying from the original thread a little but I have to tell you this as I was in hysterics laughing.
I was taken to a British restaurant/bar in Ohio, they stocked English, Irish & Scottish beers & whiskies. The waiters wore black T shirts with a logo and on the back it said "Bugger Off", the female staff had on their backs "Fancy Another Pint Love" and some had another slogan which I can't recall, they also wore kilts & sporrans. I thought of applying for a job and I could wear my own.
Oh they also sold the T shirts, but I couldn't bring myself to wear that in the streets, it may cause a riot if I ever wear it in Glasgow - not that I visit there often but you never know!!!!! |

They probably do Marty but the movies always portray the American Police as being over-fond of doughnuts.
I've just realised I'm just back from the States and I never had one doughnut, apple pocket or eggs benedict. I gotta go back soooonnnn!!!!! |

Posted - 21/05/2008 : 04:39:36 I'm a bit addicted to the Foodnetwork. (A TV channel that has basically all cooking shows). One of the programs is called Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. The host is Guy Feiri.
Paula Deen could be our Southern host.
Giada De Laurentiis (sp?) granddaughter of famous Hollywood film producer is another cook on the foodnetwork and can be our WestCoast representative.
Bobby Flay or Racheal Ray can be our East Coast Reps.
I know the UK likes a woman that does a lot of cooking shows, but I am not sure of her name.

Posted - 21/05/2008 : 04:05:43 I don't doubt it. The Donald is a bit too arrogant. You are right... he wouldn't be the proper backer... not good representation. Not enough positiveness or 'good energy' for our project. Well gotta come up with the right person, as pooh bear would say tapping his head...Think, Think...
