Posted - 26/05/2008 : 19:36:13 All Dusty's 1970s albums are unavailable (the limited re-release print runs are sold out). You can still get 'Livin' Without Your Love' presumably because not many fans bought that one when it was re-released in 2002. I've recently bought it because the time will come when that disappears too.

Posted - 26/05/2008 : 09:37:35 Hi, all
I do hope you all have your copies of Cameo on cd. It's daylight robbery if you're looking for it now (on cd I mean) The other day I saw it on Ebay for $ 149,99!! Luckily there are some good programs around for converting your vinyl to cd. Just in case anyone doesn't know how, or needs help in another way (nudge nudge, wink wink) let me know, please...

Posted - 23/05/2008 : 00:52:50 Now you've got me comin' and goin'! This was my first ever Dusty album and I loved it as soon as the needle touched the vinyl and I still love it.
I probably bought it around 1976-7 just out of casual curiosity. At the time I was into rock (especially David Bowie), punk, new wave, soul, jazz funk, Tamla, Elvis, Phil Spector, Shangri-Las, and, Sandie Shaw was my favourite retro Brit '60s person because she was so cool. Dusty broke through all this. Man, she was soul! In retrospect, this was the beginning of my longest slow burning musical love affair. I guess I like 'Mama's Little Girl' less than the other tracks but I love that wink of a 'I just saw Venus rising' line. A few of the tracks must have been loosely autobiographical being written specifically for Dusty. I guess she was going to be a free girl in the USA.
This album grounded me in this period of Dusty's career. This and Memphis are my touchstones because they were amongst my first Dusty albums and both stopped me in my tracks and made me do a double take - true love at first hearing.
Who Could Be Could Be Loving You Other Than Me '('bitter, sweeter, softer than me' - fantastic) Of All The Things Who Gets Your Love
