This song was new to me, when I heard/saw Dusty sing it on the BBC dvd...

I wasn't sure whether I liked it, but I gave it the time of day because Dusty says it was a Jack Jones song, and Jack Jones was one of my late Dad's favourite singers.

...But its a 'grower'..Its grown on me... and now I love it..

What do you think?.

Wives and Lovers- Jack Jones

No need to get excited. Now we know, it was just about a bunch of dawgs! Lovely waltz time melody. I could have daaanced all niight! I think Dusty sang this because it was Bacharach and a great hit. She would get conscious about women's liberation politics (as it was called then) later on.

Dusty sang another of Jack Jones's songs of course, the slightly controversial 'Wives and Lovers' which some may have in the same 'box' as 'Wishin and Hopin'..

I wonder why?

Jack Jones was on one of my flights and I can't remember a nicer celebrity,,,,,,,he was wearing blue jeans, a blue jean jacket and red patent leather shoes. He signed autographs and even went back to economy to shake hands and talk to everyone.

Buddy Rich was a total JERK.....wish I'd known then what I know now. Flt atts have ways of getting even..nuff said.

Is there any chance of someone finding Jack Jones's version?

I can't find it on Youtube..and I thought it'd be interesting to have a listen.

Class with a Capital C.

No one of the present day singers could even come close.

It's lovely and so beautifully, exquisitely sung. It's also an ocassion where Dusty sings about being happily and gently in love with someone who loves her,; there aren't too many of these. I'm glad she didn't get too stuck in this genre of night clubby type songs though.

Thanks for posting this.
