I get all these cranky ideas late at night folks! What about an
ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY thread?
I'll start if off with two or three events that occurred on whichever day - then we can add to them as the day goes by. It could be things like the day war broke out somewhere, a famous person died..you know the sort of thing.
What about including personal things as well..anniversaries, birthdays, other personal significant events....endless options!

13 October

On this day

1943 Italy declared war on Germany

1954 Chris Chataway beat the 5000m world record

1974 Ed Sullivan died in New York City age 72

2003 I sat my last exam which completed my degree!

Karen was born 2 March 1959 and died 10 October 1996. She would of course now be 56 had she lived.

Awww! That's so cute, Janie!
Sorry, just seen this thread! Karen would have been 56. Born in 1950, 2nd March.
2nd March is a double sad day

Sara x
P.S. Oops, just noticed Janie already answered that one Um... she died Feb 4th 1983, not 1996..

I remember taking an internet quiz one time that told you what kind of dog you would be if you were a dog. I was a Bernese Mountain Dog! Cool. Maybe we'll get one.

Dustily yours, David
