Thanks for the post of Susie Quattro, Emma, I appreciate it. Still, I didn't care for the song Devil Gate Drive, but I do like her style & I did like her song She's In Love With You. Emma, does she not remind you of Melissa Etheridge? I mean the sound & style of her voice? That's who she reminds me of.

Anyway, my first of 2010 will be something special & it's for someone special....especially considering what's been brewing in my brain lately!

Melissa Etheridge's Come To My Window....

From the collection of rare masters, this is a real funky gospel type song....and I love it!!!! Why this was never released as a single I'll never know!

Rock Me When He's Gone- Elton John

You must be logged in to see this link.

I don't think the quality is as clear on here as I have heard it here when I've played it at home, but I may be mistaken in thinking that Dusty is somewhere within the backing vocals on this track? It just sounds like her type of song to be involved with. I know that Lesley Duncan did vocals for Elton, as did Madeline, but I'm sure that Dusty is in there somewhere if you listen closely.

.....can anyone verify or correct me??? I'd be grateful.

Ta very much,

Emma xXx

Sadly no, Bambi. Peggy Lee (born Norma Deloris Egstrom) died 21st January 2002 aged 81. A superb talent....

Hi Bambi.Thank You so much.I can tell that you're a nice person, with excellent musical tastes too.
Last month CBS aired Melissa Etheridge performing at the Kennedy Center Honors, paying tribute to Springsteen. She was great.
Here she is with I Want To Be In Love.

I loved her song I Want To Be In Love! I loved that whole album, matter of fact. I remember waiting on Skin to hit the stores before it came out, lol, I remember crossing off the days on my calender. That was also the year her biography came out too. I wore that C.D. (and the book) out. The book just blew me completely away. I couldn't believe some of the stuff she'd gone through, like her birth, the stuff with her sister, and especially the remark her ex Julie made in therapy! Been together for years & she just decides "I'm just not gay"....! Wtf?! I choked on my Dr. Pepper when I read that part!

Anyway. Here's Stevie Nicks with Edge Of Seventeen

Ok, I came across this lil jewel after surfing Tina videos. This is also a little dedication to Papa English (you know who you are!) cause this has Elton in it! Lol, the only man to be on VH1 Divas as a diva himself! So here's Cher, Elton, & Tina with Proud Mary!

My choice for today is....

Sugar On The Floor- Elton John

I was listening to this this morning, and it's just lovely. Normally I go for the inital sound/melody of a song before I decide if I like it, but this is an exception. The lyrics are just beautiful, and were penned by by none other than, Kiki Dee.
