On another thread on the General Forum many of our newer members were 'introduced' for the first time to Douggie . As I mentioned on that particular thread, Douggie has related many stories/answered many of our questions (thank you D )......somehow the threads managed to get archived (its that Janie who does the archiving ).......but, here are a couple of them suitably dusted off .
Questions For Douggie: http://dustyspringfield.forumco.com/topic~ARCHIVE~true~TOPIC_ID~482.asp
and Douggie on South Africa: http://dustyspringfield.forumco.com/topic~ARCHIVE~true~TOPIC_ID~2187.asp
I'll make this topic 'Sticky' so it will not go down the list and end up being archived all over again .
Please always come back to this thread rather than attempt to comment on the archive links. Thank you.
Hope you all enjoy these gems from Douggie, I know I have enjoyed revisiting them this afternoon .

Alrighty! Well, I've finally had the chance to sit down & read the archived threads about Douggie's answers to all of the member's questions. Although, lol, I am very sleepy seeing as how it's 1 in the morning here. I've been rearranging my bedroom & cleaning it as I went along, sprained wrist 'n all.
Anyway, a good thanks to Janie for digging up these threads, it's very appreciated. She's such a sweetheart, eh?
Now I'd love to give Douggie a huge thanks for taking the time to read the questions & then take the time to answer all of them. I enjoyed every bit of it, but I enjoyed the bit on South Africa immensely, Douggie! !!! It was very groovy & very kind of you to share those personal thoughts & details. Oh, I also enjoyed the fact that you went into details about eating the sandwhiches, swimming, & the little stuff like that. That made it all the more enjoyable! I'd read about South Africa in Dancing With Demons & it touched me then, but to read about it knowing that it came from someone who personally experienced it first hand and all, well, that made it even more endearing. Thanks so much, Douggie, you have no idea how happy it made me to read just this little tid bit of information you've given, honest to goodness man, it means the world. I'm so glad I got the chance to read this stuff. I hope to hear more of your stories from the 60's, if you don't mind, it doesn't even have to have anything to do with Dusty. I just enjoy hearing about your experiences as a musician in the era.
You Are The Man, Douggie!!!
Much, much love & respect to you, Doug Reece !!!!

Hi, Bambi deAr, I think we're in danger of hijacking Douggie's thread If you want to pump me for more info, you'd better PM me..
The lil one is my niece's girl, she's just turned three. The necklace is a dutch 10 cents piece, a present from my sister.
