Yes, that time of year has rolled around once more. Another batch of hopefuls pitch their vocal abilities to the judges, this time with the added factors of a live audience and a backing track.

Sadly I didn't watch it last night, but did any of you? Was it any good? Your thoughts here please!

It's one of those programmes you know you shouldn't bother with, but once you start you HAVE to watch it every week! (Weekwilled??)
What I find incredible is how awful some of the 'singers' are - but they think they are great!
Last year there was this 'monster' of a girl from Ramsbottom (I think?) - she had the most awful voice and a dress you could hold a wedding reception in. Her family got quite nasty when she didn't get through.
Now...forward 12 months and this years contest - SHE'S THERE AGAIN!..but this time as a 'double-act' with her even fatter sister.
Don't get me wrong - I know some overweight people cannot help it and cannot lose weight no matter how they try, but these 2 obviously think a 'balanced diet' is 3 daily visits to MacDonalds with KFC as a 'treat' 7 nights a week. Despite their size, which really has nothing to do with vocal ability I admit - they were still bloody awful, and almost made you want to go out and buy a Yoko Ono album!
WHY these people think they can sing is beyond me.
On a lighter note - there was a wonderful male vocalist/showman at the end of the show called Danyl Johnson?..I think he came from Reading? NOW - THIS GUY HAS GOT TALENT - so perhaps it's not all bad.
This 'show' we all know is Simon Cowell's 'baby' (PENSION!), but at least he's constructive in his comments. Louis Walsh is like an over-excited monkey on a stick, but basically likeable, and has a good track record in spotting 'money making people'. Cheryl Cole is a beautiful looking woman and possibly is genuine, but annoying at the same time - Pet. Danni Minogue has suffered enough - due to 'relatives'. I preferred dear old Sharon Osborne for fun.

I think it was him I saw last night, the last few second of his act - was it him who really moved at the end of his song?

Brian you should get on this show, you could be NEXT year's Susan Boyle or even next year's Danyl Johnson !!!

If you don't want to be a solo act I could join you, we could be the next Robson & Jerome!

I've ALREADY been discovered!....my version of 'Trail of the lonesome pine' with my mate Stan is a showstopper*

*showstopper is different to gobstopper - which Miss Boyle should have!

What can I say Brian, my taste in music is a bit more eclectic than yours. I'm very impressed with both Susan Boyle and Danyl Johnson. I think Danyl Johnson has an amazing stage presence, he is a fantastic showman!

I'd actually suggest that the two fo you could be judges rather than acts, you're comments would certainly be much more entertaining!

...but it's only Monday! You would of course (to make the panel complete) have to find to glamorous ladies to join you both.

What the heck was that all about on Saturday with regards the comments made by Dannii to Danyl? I thought he was great, and that he did the song justice despite it usually being performed by a female singer.

Has anyone got a favourite to win yet by the way?

Lucie Jones for me. She seems to me to be a class above the rest.IMO.

How did those twins get through???

What a show Alexandra Burke put on. Brilliant.

They got rid of the worst act Kandy Rain on Saturday - so awful, they made the Spice Girls look good!
The Irish twins will no doubt be the next to go - they have too!!
So, we are left with 10 acts....
I must say I'm not too keen on Lucie who I find very average.
At this point from what I've seen I would say it's between Joe, Danyl, Olly, Miss Frank and the Jimi Hendrix lookalike!

The Twins are so bad they are great, what they lack in talent they make up for with enthusiasm as they throw themselve into their performance.

Last week I almost fell off my seat when I heard the band strike up the opening bars to Queen's We Will Rock You, they've got guts I'll give them that - but P L E A S E don't let them win!!!!! []

The problem is, it's a singing contest, not a talent contest.

They are terrible but the papers are giving them loads of free publicity.

They should'nt have even got past the elinination rounds.

If they win then there is a lot of people who wont watch the show again.

How about the "Son of a Preacher Man" sung by Stacey.

I thought it was petty good, singing it in her own style.
