Oh, this is so out of left field, I don't know where to begin. heh I was just curious to know how much it might cost to license a rather obscure Dusty song to put on a new web series. Right now this wouldn't happen even if I could license the song because the new webseries wants original music. But, if I could have sold them on using "Don't Say it, Baby, for at least their first web season, if I had enough money I would pay for it myself. I think it fits so perfectly for the mood this show seems to be going. It's the new webseries "Venice". You can find out about it at venicetheseries.com.
If info about this series has been posted elsewhere on this site, I apologize. I have about 20 minutes to post on the computer. The webseries is going to be about a gay woman named Gina and is going to be done by Crystal Chappell a US Soap Opera actor. EXTREMELY popular.
Again, I know they want original music because everybody is working for free trying to get this off the ground. That dang song just haunts me and I wish they could use. Heh, they might not even like it. This is just a silly question from me. I'm sure they want a young unknown guitar/piano/singer/songwriter for their music.
It would probably cost more than I could afford anyway. Dusty appears to be more popular than ever!! As it should be!

Robin is this the first of you mentioning this web series? It's just you speak as if we should know about it!
I would imagine if you were allowed to licence Dusty's track it would not come cheap as I've heard Universal are an expensive company to licence from. |

Hi reputation! Yeah, I haven't been to any Dusty sites in a long time. Gave up on the computer for months. Crystal Chappell's new webseries is a big deal in the states..and other countries. She's putting it on the web so other countries won't have problems seeing it. She is hoping that the web will be a great way to get stories to people who can't get them on regular TV or even the movies. And no censoring!! Her character is gay and she does have a huge gay following, but the series is not going to be only a gay series. Hey, she's a soap opera actor.sooo..but I wish I knew how to put stills in here. I didn't know if anyone here had heard about it or not. If you're a gay female and even if your not, hee, you should check out this site. I'm just a fan. I'm not selling anything. I was actually trying to buy something. You are so correct, though. I couldn't afford to license a Dusty song and I think they would probably want younger or different type of music anyway. Crystal Chappell is not "young" young, but they have stated they want new talent. I was just brain storming and nobody sets a mood like Dusty.
If you are interested in this web series, maybe someone could pass it around here on the board. It's about a emotionally damaged lesbian with the other half of the famous "Otalia" team as her ex-lover. If you no one's heard of "Otalia".....well, that was from the soap Guiding Light which ended today after 57 years on TV and 15 years on radio. Long story. ehhh Check out Otalia on You Tube. :) I wasn't interested at first because I don't like soaps. But, some women just have chemistry and these two women have it to spare. The stupid writer wouldn't even let them kiss after building up there love story for almost two years. US sucks a lot of the time. So, we are going to get the kiss in the web series, with more I hope. Check out that website tomorrow sometime. The two actress are supposed to do something special for their fans. Sorry, I don't even know what time. I'm assuming it will stay up on the site for awhile. Not sure though.
