Six and a half minutes of preview here:

http://theamazingsusanboyle.magnify.net/video/EXCLUSIVE-PREVIEW-OF-SUSANS-CD

I can't get over how much younger her voice appears to be in comparison to what we know to be her age.

I hope she does well with this - other than the odd one I think the songs could have been a bit more adventurous. She is capable of show casing much much more than what this selection has allowed.

Amazon is featuring a short video - just over two minutes. Relelase date btw is 23 November. £8.98 on Amazon:

Thanks for posting this Janie, I'm listening to it as I type. I haven't pre ordered it yet but I will. It's due to be released in the US at the end of November.

I have heard many people say she sounds so much younger than her age, but didn't hear it until I just heard this preview. Have agree with that now!

Anyone else plan on buying the CD?

Marty

Yes, I most definately plan on buying her CD. I think she is a wonderful story. I will never forget the clip of the first time she sang--the audience was so "Oh sure, you're going to sing"--so disbelievingly doubtful. And then the moment that she started to sing--what a beautiful voice! Everyone loves a story such as hers!

Janie would you care to elaborate on the song choice?

I think it's pretty good, some of the songs are new to me and others haven't been convered much like You'll See, also Michael Bublle has just recorded Cry Me A Rivers and Red Hurley's version of How Great Thou Art has just been re-released thanks to Terry Wogan playing it for awhile.

With a debut album you have to play it quite safe and Susan was unknown , watch out for cd number 2 maybe she'll surprise you, she's certainly surprised me with Wild Horses which I find amazing, I've had it for years on a Stones hits cd and never realised.

Maybe we should start a thread with songs Susan could record for her next cd?

The choice and interpretation of 'Wild Horses' illustrates my point Karl - I, like you, found it amazing, she made it her own. On that basis I'm not sure it was so necessary to play it as 'safe' as t'other songs would suggest she has (although of course she almost inevitably had very little say). I think a more adventurous approach would have produced a truly 'amazing' first album.

As for your idea about a thread with songs Susan could record for her next cd, well......there's nothing stopping you!!

Janie I think there's a touch of the politician in you as you are evading the question I asked.

When you say adventurous just what kind of material would you feel Susan should record? I think she is staying in her comfort zone, I couldn't imagine her doing any rave-up's, but I really would like to hear what material you feel she should record.

I know Susan is a big Elaine Paige fan and that is the kind of material I feel she's most comfortable with.

I'd like to see her recording traditional Scottish folk songs, for a very small Scottish label with no distribution!

I'd like to see you record an album of fiddle music on a fiddle with no strings!!!!

Were Susan to record an album of soul hits you'd be first in line!

After hearing her version of 'Wild Horses',i think she could do well with almost any great song.
Makes me wonder which of Dusty's hits she could try.Mmmm "So Much Love" ?

Funny Lorna I had the same thought what about if Susan recorded one of Dusty's songs, what about The Look of Love.

Lorna So Much Love was not a Dusty hit but an album track.
