Nobody had mentioned Shirley Bassey on the Electric Proms!

I watched it last night as I recorded it, she still is an amazing performer for 70 and very agile - she was also quite funny with things she said and did onstage.

I don't like everything Shirley sings, I always think when she does a quieter line or two you can't hear her until she belts it out again. However I still think she's a great visual performer and she knows how to put on a show.

It was bloody amazing! Shirley is in fact 72 years old - 73 in January. She still commands a stage like no other.
Saying that, I don't think Shirley can sing ANYTHING (unlike Dusty), but most of what she tackles is superb. One thing is sure - as soon as she starts singing you KNOW it's her. The word 'diva' is branded about a lot - but she IS the real thing!

My God Brian I can hardly believe she's almost 73, I can still remember the tv show she did at 60 (just seems like yesterday) she was on a London bus with her bus pass but when somebody asked her age she kept saying S S S - she couldn't say Sixty LOL !!!!!
