Hi everyone -
Heather and I have arrived home safely. Yesterday was a very sad day indeed, which ended a very intense and upsetting week; as well as the funeral itself, we had another issue to contend with which made things very difficult and presented various obstacles.
The funeral service itself was lovely and precisely as Fraser would have wanted - simple, to the point, and accompanied by the astonishing voice of Miss Dusty Springfield, singing 'I'm Going Back" and "Its Over". Cas and Tinkle attended the funeral and it was wonderful to meet them. At the reception afterwards, we spent a few hours recounting various tales and exploits about Fraser and his activities in relation to Dusty. Amid the tears, there was also much laughter and new friendships were forged that day which I hope will continue for a long time to come.
Heather had asked that Fraser's funeral flowers be taken from his coffin and placed at the Hope Monument next to Canal Street and this was done. Each of us took a flower from the wreath and will keep these as a little memento of the day. I have photos of the flowers and also a copy of the eulogy and when time permits, I will post these for anyone who is interested.
Heather was deeply moved by the day's events but heartened and consoled to know that so many were thinking of Fraser and of her yesterday as we attended his funeral. On her behalf, I would like to extend the most heartfelt thanks to all here for your invaluable support, kindness, soothing words and supportive thoughts and good wishes - THANKYOU.
With the warmest regards to each and every one of you -

Thankyou so much for letting us know how it all went, Will.
It must have been a sad and traumatic experience for everyone.
However, I am so very pleased that the esteem in which Fraser was held seems to have been conveyed to his Mum.
Hopefully, the knowledge that Fraser was a well-loved person, will sustain and help her, as the days go by...
Best Regards,
Carole R xxx |

Thanks and yes - Heather was greatly consoled by that knowledge.
I've posted a longer account of the funeral and reception on my website and you can see the photos of the flowers and read / download the Eulogy, one of two read at the Service.

Thank you Will for taking the time to keep us informed regarding the funeral. I have looked at the pictures and read the Eulogy from your web site and found it all very moving.
He may be gone from us but he will not be forgotten.

Thanks Janie - and I think I may hang around as I'd really quite like to learn more about Dusty. I love her music and that astonishing and quite singular voice but I really know very little about Dusty the woman and her career, so this seems like a good place to be.

I miss you Fraser. Whenever people ask questions about the music and stuff, I keep thinkin' "Fraser would know that", cos he was like a Dusty encyclopedia, I love how much he loved music. It's not fair
