Do you avoid walking under Ladders?
Would you avoid Room number 13?
Do you think its lucky (or a miracle) to find a four-leaf clover?
To put it bluntly: ARE you superstitious?..
If so, what about?....

Very very interesting. I consider myself spiritual and I believe in the supernatural, but I don't consider myself superstitious... meaning that I don't believe I can actually control my fate by irrelevant behaviour (opening umbrellas indoors, walking under ladders, spilling salt, wearing lucky t-shirts... etc). I have never altered my behaviour to accommodate superstition.

When I was about 16 (possibly skiving off school), I went round to a friend's house, and when I got there they were freaking out and saying there was a ghost in her bedroom. I thought they were winding me up at first, but then I saw they were genuinely scared. I was laughing at them and saying don't be stupid, cos I never really believed in anything like that.. so we went up to her room, and I looked up at the light (cos they'd been saying the light kept switching on and off, or something.. I can't remember, it was a long time ago) and said "Go on then, do something!" just joking, even though (or because ) they were asking me not to. But as soon as I said that, this picture that was sat on her stereo suddenly flew across the room. It was the freakiest thing I've ever seen!

Carole, do you remember what happened with the portrait of Dusty at Dusty Day 2005? When Simon and Madeline were singing "Private Number"? Spooky, or what????

Yes, I do remember that T..
For no apparent reason Dusty's pic started moving, then it was hanging to one side. Then, the pic FELL OFF the curtain at the end of the song.
It WAS really spooky! We were ALL totally shocked.I, for one, was sure that Dusty was with us, that day. No doubt. She did it for a laugh. but it shook us up abit.

Yes, I think so. My husband travels a lot for work and I used to get overwhelmed with the silence/darkness late at night. I couldn't relax enough to fall asleep unless the TV was on (I needed noise and light). Strangely, after I fell asleep, the TV would turn itself off. All the time. But only when Richard was out of town and I was by myself. So I think someone was trying to tell me to chill out and relax, that I'd be OK, so just go to sleep already!
I have a few other stories too, but you'd think I'm nuts.

OK, fine then.
When I was in university, I lived in a house on the Detroit River (right beside the American/Canadian border in Windsor). The house was built in the 1920's. Well, throughout the duration of my stay in that house, I would sometimes wake up and find an aboriginal man, in traditional wear, at the foot of my bed, just standing there. I have no idea why he was there, in that particular house, or why he was hanging around me. I was under the impression that he likely died long before the area was built into a residential area. It probably happened 8-10 times or so. That's the only time I've ever seen a "ghost" (and, I hope it stays that way).
So, that's as supernatural as I get, I guess.

Yes, I was pretty freaked out. I got used to him, though. I was just looking online to see if I could connect his outerwear with a particular band, but the closest I could find is this.

That photo looks a bit intimidating. My 'roommate' was more friendly looking.

Did he smile? Did he try to communicate anything? Um.. was he in 'black and white'?

He didn't smile or anything, he just kind of stood there, lol. I didn't get an unfriendly vibe. Definately not black and white, he was actually a lovely skin tone. And he didn't really seem to have anything to tell me, he never spoke, and didn't really even move. It was weird, because I'd get a good look at him for about 20 seconds or so (it seemed like a long time...) and then he'd just be gone. Weird, weird. It makes me wonder if he even knew what he was doing or where he was.

A few queries Linda...and I'm not being sarcastic. I think this is REALLY interesting.
1. When you say, aboriginal do you mean American Indian? 2. Did you ever try and speak to him? 3. Did you ever investigate what had been on the Site of the house, before the house was built?
Unbelievers of this type of thing, would say that you were probably dreaming but THAT seems an unlikely explanation if it happened so many times.
Towards the end of her life, Dusty believed that she had a 'Spirit Guide' who was an American Indian chief(I think) Her friend the Spiritualist, Lee Everett, acted as communicator/medium between Dusty and the Indian, I believe.

Yes, American Indian, or Native American, or in Canada, "First Nations". I never tried speaking to him because I was always startled. And I know that there was a lot of activity on and around the river long before it was "settled" by Europeans. I figured the same, that he probably was tied to the land that my house and I so rudely overtook.

Good lord, are you serious? I didn't know that!! I knew that Lee helped her with healing, but I didn't realize that she had her own guide (and from my neck of the woods, no less.) Interesting, the more I learn about Dusty the more I can identify with her.

Yes, I'm serious Linda. I'll try and dig out where I read that.
It was definitely in a newspaper article after Dusty died.
Can anyone else help out with this?

I've been looking into this online... and the closest thing that I found is this quote:
"After regression therapy she had undergone years earlier with Lee, Dusty believed she had been a member of the Cree tribe of Native American Indians in a former life and sought solace in New Age music featuring the call of the loon which is symbolic to the tribe."
Source: http://www.cptelecom.net/mbayly/article29.htm
Reincarnation is a completely different concept than having a spiritual guide, so, who really knows. This is all very interesting to me, because I strongly believe that most of our tangible world is almost inconsequential... the abstract is much more relevant.
Heavy. lol.

Okay, Linda ..That may have been it.. . I was going from memory. ..I see it was...1999!
I thought it had been a newspaper article.
I knew it 'involved' American Indians... I'd forgotten the name of the Tribe, though.
All most interesting, aint it?
What I wonder, is the call of the 'loon'?..
