Before you get excited..NO! I am NOT starting a 'Singles Club'..
I was wondering whether any of you STILL buy single records /cds.
I was trying to remember the LAST one I bought, and I''m thinkin' it MIGHT have been 'After The Magic Has Gone' by Joe Cocker, in 19.. 'mind your own business!
No, it can't have been that long ago.
I'll have to check.
What was the last 'single' that you bought?
Remember?

I bought some singles in the early 80s to add to my tapes that I used to lead aerobics sessions in the Navy. I remember "Electric Avenue", "Muscles", "Der Kommisar"...

I don't remember what it was, but I know it was on cassette. The only CD single that I have was a freebie.
Or, like Sara, I've bought 45's if I come across a jewel... in its original cover. Which, despite the fact that it's a single, often typically has better artwork/photos that the average CD, in my opinion. Vinyl records might be outdated, but the covers are fantastic.
I use my record player regularly, lol.

In the sixties I spent all my money on singles...sometimes buying 10 - 15 per week! (you must remember this was the era of truly great singles) It dropped off in the seventies to about 6-8 per week, then in the eighties it was about 4-5. The nineties saw the death of the single (due to record companies greed), and I bought less and less. Nowadays I buy on average about 6 per year My last purchase was The Red Hot Chilli Peppers 'Snow (hey ho)'

I like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. 'Under The Bridge' is one of my favourite songs ever I always bought more albums than singles, cos the singles always were on the albums anyway, unlike back in the 60s and before.. Guess I only ever bought a single if I didn't really want a whole album, if it was just a single song I liked and didn't really like the artist so much.

The last CD single I bought from a store when actually in the chart was approx 3/4 years ago, 'There'll you be' by Faith Hill, from the Movie 'Pearl Harbour', though I have bought CD singles from Car-boot fairs since!
I have to admit I am completely out of touch with today's 'Hit Parade', the rot started when TOTP was moved to Friday, so I could no longer follow was 'happening'! and sadly, TOTP has now been taken off the air all together!

The last single I bought was a 7 inch of the Oasis song, "Stop crying your heart out" in 2002... Don't know why I liked it but I did .
Wasn't there talk of dropping cd singles from the shops at some point? I'm sure I remember reading that somewhere... |

Very appropriate T!...
You just tugged my memory bank.. The last single I bought was also in Henley.
It was, 'We Are Family' by Sister Sledge, and made me think of the RAH concert.
It had a really good booklet 'thingy' with it.
The Chimp on the front reminded me of my pal,Brian... (joking Brian! )
So I bought it, and sent it to him!..
