Which alcoholic drink do you DARE not have? for fear of it making you poorly or temporarily changing your personality.
This is the thread to tell us the drink... AND tell us the story!..

I can't drink booze now due to health problems . So I'm a cheap round! But I'm always cheerful and happy --well most of the time, so don't need alcohol to give me a lift!

I'm an alcoholic, so any drink is delicious for me.
I used to really like dry, red wine.
But I haven't touched the stuff in over a year.

I don't drink!...only coffee, milk, water or squash I cannot stand 'The great British drink - tea' either. I am partial to 'Red red wine' by UB40 though!

I drink everything, but vodka is my favorite, and Grey Goose is my favorite vodka. Grey Goose has a marvelous new pear flavored vodka that's nice for a change. Yum, yum.

Grey Goose comes from France! It's a little pricey, but delicious.

Thats interesting--do they use pears as it tastes of them--I know alot are grown around Normandy together with apples--but I thought cider was their thing.
Lots of things are pricey but hey --enjoy, life's too short.

Good advice, Trek!
Yes, they use pears to make it (I read). I usually don't drink flavored vodkas, but I'm enjoying this one. Maybe it's the novelty.
I don't mix anything with my Goose, btw. I drink it either on the rocks or "up".
Dustily yours, Astro |

Tequila is EVIL!!!
I was in a pub several years ago, and I had a few drinks (cough) and one Tequila - I felt fine.....that is, until the fresh air hit me. I ended up retching over the quay wall by the river in Dublin city, then had to get off my bus home several stops early becasue I felt so sick - then lost my favourite scarf on the long walk - then dropped my contact lenses in the toilet when I home
I've never touched it again.

Surprise 'Flavour of the Month'...Magners Cider..
Seems Cider has gone from being a cheap tipple to an 'In' drink.
Irish Brewery, Magners, Have seen their profits rise by 77% this year...
Could be down to clever marketing, or has Cider come back into fashion??
Have we any secret Magners Drinkers?..
Carole xx who NOW, feels embarassed,Cos,if your'e a 'secret drinker' you aint gonna tell us.... |

I find cider absolutely grim tasting! It brings back memories of sitting in the park as a teenager with a group of about 10 others, all drinking from one bottle!
I'm not a big booze fan - don't really like the taste of it. I remember getting drunk for the first time at about 15, me and two friends raided Mum's alcohol cupboard when she was out one night and we must have polished off most of what was in there. I remember very little about that evening but Mum loves to tell the story of what she found when she arrived home that night - all three of us had vomited on the living room carpet and were found asleep on the floor in different parts of the house! I will always love her for not getting angry about it until after my horrendous hangover had disappeared a few days later! |

Its not so much what I drink but rather the mood I'm in when I drink that determines my reaction to the alcohol.
My favourite alcoholic beverage is scotch and Canada dry. HOWEVER, if I fancy a drink at any time I will drink whatever is on offer!

Nice story. Perhaps your mother figured that the hangover would be punishment enough.
My ex-boyfriend, one night when we were about 16 years old, got absolutely trashed on Kahlua. He was sick for two days, and really didn't feel back to normal for about four days. Last time I saw him (a couple of years ago) he still couldn't stomach the thought of Kahlua. I guess the body remembers an evil toxin.

...Just as an aside, to this topic:
Did anyone ever see the film, 'The Days Of Wine And Roses'with Jack Lemmon and LeeRemick..?
I saw it on the TV, years ago, but it was so touching and brilliant
I've never forgotten it.
It was due to that film, I realised that an addictive personality can be addicted to absolutely anything at all.
