Thanks Paul. This '66 clip is Dusty at her best--Some of your Lovin will always be my favourite Dusty song and I think the live version is even better than the record.
These DVD's should give us clear pictures and better sound quality than the video ones.

The job is going fine thanks Janie, although I have less time to potter about on the Net, and i'm sitting in front of a computer all day, so sometimes it's the last thing I feel like doing when I get home - but I force myself

I love the hand movement she makes when she says this , there's such an endearing quality about her - when she sings, talks, dances - breathes
HURRY UP WITH THE DVD!!! IS ANYBODY LISTENING!?!?

I wonder if the DVD will be for sale outside Europe? It says on 'amazon.co.uk' that it is a Region2 DVD, but I guess if you have a multi-region enabled dvd player there' no reason (apart from cost) why you couldn't buy it from the UK and have it shipped abroad??
Also on 'amazon' is the cover-art for the BBC-sessions cd -

I'm not overly impressed. Any other opinions???

I'm not impressed with the cover either--looks like she is goin to the Office! Do they want to sell this CD--if so it needs to be more eye catching --okay the die hards like us lot will buy it no matter what the sleeve looks like but it needs to appeal to a wider population--and this sleeve ain't gonna do that.

Thanks for this, Paul..
Stereo, Mono, who cares?...
Will NEVER tire of seeing and hearing this Dusty 'Anthem'.... Also enjoyed the 'bonus' track, of Gerry and His Pacemakers.
'Don't let the sun catch you crying' is fab.
---------- I do think that the proposed cover for the BBC sessions is peculiar to say the least.
That suit is the one she wore on one of her first trips to New York.
What the hell has THAT got to do with the BBC shows?
A recognisable pic of her singing a Motown song on one of those weekly shows would have been much more appropriate.
Why do these people always seem to sell Dusty short, by making basic mistakes like this??

I must admit to not always liking stereo added to mono tracks, but I think in this case it does enrich the overall sound, the stereo comes across okay through the speakers of my computer as I don't have headphones. I can alaay listen to this track--no matter how many times!
Love the Gerry and the Pacemakers 2 tracks too--especially Don't let the sun catch you crying! Wonderful.

Yes, I'm considering that... I mean, my DVD player is Region One, but region 2 works on the computer.
About the cover... I love the picture, but not for the cover of BBC.

Nice.
Well, for me anyways, globalization means that I need to buy a globalized DVD player.

Well, I just seen on amazon.co.uk that the Dusty BBC DVD is scheduled for a 25th of June release;
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dusty-Springfield-Live-At-BBC/dp/B000PTYPC0/ref=sr_1_12/203-1078713-1447943?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1178310652&sr=1-12
So, just to keep us going until then is this first half of an episode of Dusty's 1966 BBC series, where she sings - "The Real Thing" (originally recorded by soul singer Tina Britt and co-written by Ashford/Simpson, who Dusty must have held in high regard -see Carole's 'Dusty's Choice' thread)
"Some of Your Loving"
"Bring Him Back" - check out the dancing!!! and "Poor Wayfaring Stranger"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VA2rIOUKFS4
Enjoy.
Paul
I had ANOTHER look at this today, and lets face it, its brilliantino!
These were 'live' shows!..
Dusty sang one song after another and never faltered.
I LOVED her dancing!... much better than her usual 'dancing on the spot!..'
We get confirmation that 'Some Of Your Lovin' was her fave recording.
Everything about this clip, has us anxiously waiting for the release of the forthcoming DVD!...
It should be fan- bloomin- tastic!
