Blimey Linda... Those covers have made me feel physically sick!...
Especially, the fat guy and the pig....nauseating.

Hysterical.
Now that people download music, is album art a thing of the past? Or will the downloads eventually come with art that can be viewed on video I-pods?
I remember as a kid I stared for hours at the "With The Beatles" cover - it meant as much as the music. All the Beatle album covers were iconic.
But I guess times change. |

I've mentioned this a few times too. I don't do downloads. I want to have something in my hands, ideally with liner notes, etc.
And while I'm on the topic, I still always preferred LP's to cassetttes or CD covers, because the size of the artwork made a bigger impression (literally).

Amen to that, Linda... and also when you bought an album for a present it looked like SOMETHING..
Whereas a cd always looks slightly paltry in my view...
Real fans want EVERYTHING including any pics and sleeve notes.
However, it depends on the cash situation, I guess...and a person's abilty to get to shops.

You don't do downloads?
I know I shouldn't be admitting this, but I pirate a lot. On the other hand, I look for really eclectic stuff - the Red Army Choir, Nino Rota, Spike Jones, Derek & Clive and yes, I got most of Dusty's stuff for free.
A lot of stuff simply isn't available in America. I tunes? I'll be buggered if I'm going to pay 99 cents a cut - it's a rip off. |

The reason I don't do downloads is because I'm just as obsessed with the liner notes as the music itself.
I am totally guilty of pirating my obsessions... the illegal stuff... but if I'm looking for something that's already been released, I'm going to buy it. Eventually. I admit that I acquire bootlegs that are available, but I always end up with the legit copy in the end. It's a love thing. It's a trust thing. *break out into song*

I've been a Spike Jones fan for 35 years - I consider him the finest musician America ever produced.
That's why I still pirate - I downloaded stuff I never knew existed. "Duet for Violin and Garbage Disposal" - who knew? |

Like, I want to know what kind of track listing the album, "Songs For Gay Dogs" might possibly contain??
"The Bitch is Back"...?..maybe?
