So, what on earth happened to the boiling hot Summer that we were promised?
Its all gone 'umbrella shaped' at the moment. ...
Been POURING with rain and windy ALL morning and to be truthful it feels more like 'January in June.'..
Is it REALLY possible that the 'weather-people' got it wrong?..
Surely not!..

I think the weather that was promised to you has gotten lost somewhere around HERE! It's been quite hot, very dry (too dry, says the farmer in me who is watching her crops whither), and yesterday I got a sunburn.
Please send rain this way.

Can snails drown? Cos I saw one that looked like it was drowning this morning so I rescued it. Or can they swim?

I don't even know how snails move... but kudos to Sara for saving the life of a helpless critter.

Yep... Mucho kudos, Sara.
Snails are the ones with the shells on their backs aren't they?
Quite a few of them are living in my garden pots at the moment...
I definitely think that they LIKE damp weather, you always see more, after rain..
Many years ago, we brought some 'shells' back from the seaside and left them in a bucket by the garage.
Some time later, we looked out the window, and there were loads of snails crawling up the side of the garage!..It looked very weird.
BIG mistake! ...Anyway we retrieved them and put them into the soil.
So, 'Seaside snails' had to morph into 'Garden snails' in short order..
Anyway, THATS my 'tale of the unexpected', for another day.

The sun 'shone' in Oxfordshire this morning, from 8.10 until 8.22! We have had lots of rain here, but nothing like they've had 'up north' Greece is 39 degrees today - hot and sunny - wish I was there!

Things have been pretty bad here in Sheffield. Luckly we are quite high up so our house hasn't flooded but the area at the bottom of the hill has. Fingers crossed that they manage to keep the Ulley reservoir under control.

It looks like a big lake! Scary. I heard people lost their lives cos of this weather too, not something you expect to happen at the end of June.

Wow!... I hadn't realised that you were in Sheffield, Wendy.
Saw it on the News tonight, it looked terrible.
Are the Emergency Services doing a good job?
There was no sign of them on the TV news.
People seemed to be fending for themselves.
I really hope that people get the help that they need.
Very pleased that you are okay.

Here are a couple empathy pictures for you. The first year that I lived here (2000) was pretty bad for rain.
This very sad picture is quite strange, I'm not sure if I posted it right-side-up.

Hello barn. My mother in law needs a boat.

And here's an empathy picture for Rhiannon and Vera after their mud festival. My poor babies, they were so muddy...

... But this year, no rain. My corn field is especially thirsty, it's withering away.
