The Daily Mirror is giving away CD's this week and I could swear I saw a picture of Dusty on the advert. I'm off to look at the Mirror's website to learn more.

I can't find anything on the mirror's website. Have got daughter searching in the newsagents today and its Jerry Lee Lewis today, Tom Jones tomorrow so fingers crossed for Tuesday.

The Dusty CD is due Monday 23rd July 2007.
You have to collect vouchers for 13 set of Legends! CDs
(Since when were Sister Sledge and The Three Degrees legends?)
or on the day of issue if you buy the Daily Mirror at a Summerfields Supermarket they will give you the CD of the day.
But please check information, the details in Todays Sunday Mirror is a bit vague, I also got a free Jerry Lee Lewis CD (Great Balls of Fire).

I've never heard of a newspaper or magazine distributing music CDs before I came to this site. But it's a clever idea. Are they just random tracks by the artist? Who decides what gets released? I find this interesting.

Don't really know how it all works, Linda.
They are usually fairly old compilation tracks,
I don't know if you've seen The Prince thread on the 'Other Music' forum... but they are giving his entirely new Album away with one of our Sunday Papers.

Did anyone get the Dusty freebie today then? My daughter picked mine up from Somerfield's for me. There are 10 tracks, all live and if I'm not mistaken its the RAH recordings.

I saw it at work! My mum gets the mirror delivered along with the guardian every day, so I've asked her to save the coupon thingys It didn't say it was the RAH show, but there were a few tracks from it on the tracklisting, so maybe it is. It's weird how they don't say anything about it though.

I picked up my copy and it IS the RAH again... more or less the same as the Sunday Express freebie a while back! I wish they'd have put something else on like a mixture of older and newer songs so people could experience the wider range of music that Dusty recorded!
