Here in the south midlands we have one of the WETTEST days anyone can remember It started raining just after midnight, and has continued ever since - thunder, lightning, a huge downpour with rain as big as golf balls. I have never known anything like it!..there seems to be no let up either. Anyone else suffering?

We had non-stop torrential rain in Sydney about a month ago.
While it was a godsend for drought-affected areas and a boost to our dams,it caused major flood damage in the north of the state.

When it rains it really pours.

We've had hours and hours of heavy rain, thunder, lightning........the works!! Only got Max out to do his early morning constitutionals around mid-day!! He caused havoc this morning as he was so frightened, raced in under the bed, took the legs away and the damn bed then proceeded to collapse on top of the dog.......if you could have seen me trying to extricate an already petrified dog from the devastation that used to be my bed..........well......

Our garden was many inches under water as well........now Max's Daddy is home though, Max has decided to be brave and is now playing dive bombs into the water and then running back indoors leaping up on to the couch. Who left the door open I want to know?

It been raining here all day too and in the whole of Staffordshire, and its still raining.

I had to drive through some quite deep flood waters this evening, so will not be venturing out again for awhile.

Worcestershire is very badly affected too, as well as the areas members have already mentioned.

Keep safe everyone.

The weather forecasters, with all their Double-Dopler radar and other fancy gadgets, last night were all predicting a "40 days and 40 nights" kinda storm starting last night and continuing through this morning. "Batten down the hatches - rush to the store and buy up all the bread and milk!" - kinda storm.

Needless to say, we had one gorgeous day here in Southern Connecticut.

All joking apart, the pictures of the devastation throughout the South Midlands, Oxfordshire, and surrounding areas have been truly shocking.

It's hard to take in the hardship that some people must be facing.

I want to send our love and best wishes, to anyone, who reads these boards, and has been affected by the severe weather conditions...

And its still raining in some of these areas.
They are also struggling to maintain fresh water supply in some areas due to water purification stations being flooded--all this water and none to drink

Lets all hope things improve soon.

Its dry here today, but still wet South of here.

Take care everyone.

Alot of the flooding has cleared up here in Didcot. It was such a shock to see it all because we dont have rivers near us and we're not in a flood risk area. Milton Park, where all the businesses are such as Asda, is still flooded tho, on Friday in Asda it was nearly 3 feet deep

We've had a lovely sunny morning here in Oxfordshire, BUT the river levels are rising extremely fast...we 'collect' water into the Thames from dozens of other rivers/streams, and it doesn't look good.
I've been out this morning to a plant sale, and on the way home had to be diverted 4 times!, due to roads being closed by flooding. Abingdon - 3 miles from me has been hit badly this morning with the River Ock bursting it's banks in several places. I have never seen anything like this before.

DRY BRY ..at the moment

I hope all stays ok for you Brian! I don't know the situation of Didcot, are we at risk of more flooding?
