I wonder how the Frogmill house is faring with the Thames on it's doorstep?
I can't imagine there is any way that the Frogmill area has got away with it.
Thanks for enquiring about Henley, Nicky.
I did see pics of The Angel pub, on TV last night.
Also, I was wondering, with all these flooded fields, whats happened to all the farm animals? ..

*MORE FLOODING OVERNIGHT* Oxford has suffered badly overnight with the rivers rising by about 2ft. 90 people in the western part of the city were evacuated at 2am this morning. The problem here is there are so many smaller rivers/streams which 'feed' the Thames from the Cotswolds and Chiltern Hills and it's all arrived together adding to the flooding that was already there. The 'severe flooding' warning covers are large area basically from Eynsham in the north through Oxford and Abingdon to Wallingford and Henley - the whole of the Thames Valley. Where I live we are dry as we are a distance from the river - however the roads from the village north and west are completely flooded and impassable. We have one road leading south, so we have contact with the outside world!

Thanks for keeping us updated on the current situation, Brian.
There seems to be no let up in these tragic conditions.
I wish there was something we could all do to help, but unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be.
All we can do, is to hope and pray for an improvement in the weather.
Love, Carole xx

I understand that Henley, Marlow and Windsor are on high alert with the Thames peaking today.
Its raining again here this morning.
Good job you live away from the river Brian. I hope your one road stays open. No man is an island.

I've just been watching the ITV News and their reporter in Henley said the Thames has burst its banks and is over 6 feet higher than normal and it is due to peak at midnight! Hope it doesn't get too much worse.
The weather forecast is for rain again tomorrow then Fri/Sat/Sun are supposed to be dry and sunny but, this being England, anything could happen!

I was looking at the TV News earlier and the pics just didn't look as if they were coming from England.
People wading in water right up to their waists, carrying children and all their worldly goods.
Let's hope that weather forecast is right, Sparkie.
Much more rain, just doesn't bear thinking about.

THANK YOU MATT for those words of wisdom!...it's now pouring down again...it's all your fault Anyway....just heard a story on the local radio (BBC RADIO OXFORD):- A goldfish has been rescued from the floods in ...wait for it.... LAKE STREET Oxford this morning...they are calling her 'Pearl'
WET WILLY
P.S - Just got a 'weather flash' on the radio...this afternoon ANOTHER inch of rain is expected in Oxfordshire - heavy and prolonged at times 'What have we done to deserve this'? |

Been thundering and lightning here as well..
Luckily, I'm a fool on a hill....
No chance of flooding in my neck of the woods. Sorry, you didn't need to know that....

I most sincerely sympathize. In addition, I've had only two centimiters of rain since the spring and the fields are a write-off. No harvest for this farmer. Massive draught here. If we break even, I'm happy.
I wish we could all share the rain.
