Have we ever had a Poll regarding our Fave Male/Female, non Dusty duet?....
I can't recall us doing that.
So, maybe its time we did!...
So this is the thread for nominations for Male/female Duet (plus the song) Poll ...
I need MORE than three nominations, please. Carole xxx

Either "Where Is The Love?" or "The Closer I Get To You" by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway. Take your pick, because I can't decide!

Don't Go Breaking My Heart ~ Elton and Kiki would be somewhere at the top of my list, along with Freddie Mercury and Monserrat Caballe singing "Barcelona". Just off the top of my head.

"You've Got A Friend"- Carole King and James Taylor.
(Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway also did a great duet on this song!)

I concur with the Roberta Flack and Donnie Hathaway duets that David mentioned. Also like "Don't Know Much" by Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville.

"Don't Give Up"- Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush
(I actually prefer Willie Nelson and Sinead O'Connor's version, but was thinking y'all might not be familiar with that one.)

Carole - thank you for that...although it wasn't a 'duet' really. It was thought up by record company executives at the time to cash in on Natalie's popularity. The song was recorded 30 years before by Nat, and his daughter 'added' her vocals . Other 'duets' were not really duets - Aretha & The Eurythmics 'Sisters are doing it for themselves', Aretha and George Michael 'I knew you were waiting for me' and Patti Labelle & Michael McDonald's 'On my own' were all recorded miles apart! Marvin Gaye was 'King of the duets' - with Mary Wells, Kim Weston, Tammi Terrell and Diana Ross...some of the best duets ever. For me though you cannot beat Sonny & Cher's 'I got you babe'...it was 'natural'

That's so funny, I didn't think of Sonny and Cher as a duet. Maybe because, like Brian said, it was natural.
Um, I can't help but sing along with Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton's "Islands in the Stream". Uh huh.
