So, all at once, Britain goes from having hardly ANY good female soul divas to having two stand out acts come along in the same era..

Amy Winehouse and Joss Stone:

Which of these talented ladies do you prefer?..

This is the thread for your answers and your reasons, if you wish to share..

I used to like Joss Stone, but now she thinks she's a 'soul diva' (try outsinging Shirley Brown...and get back to me!!), so I'd pick Amy Winehouse as she is WEIRD and I like weird women

I go for Joss - well, she was born only a few miles from where I was!!! The Devonian blood certainly gives us women SOUL .

Well surprise ,surprise, I'm gonna choose......AMY!..

Joss is talented, obviously, but I just can't get into that voice. For me, she still tries far too hard.

I prefer the songs which Amy sings, and I like the way she sings 'em.

They're both just okay to me.. I prefer Amy to Joss I think, but to me their music's nothing special and I wouldn't buy their albums.
But compared with most of the crappy rap stuff that's out at the moment, they're brilliant!

3-1 to Amy, so far.

Quite a turn up for the books, methinks.

Amy for me too though like Sara I wouldn't actually buy any of their CD's.
Joss Stone is too noisy now and over sells the song.
Amy has made some good recordings but I'm not too keen on the rest of her!

For me it's six of one and half a dozen of the other!

I need all twelve, both excellent singers in my book.

I love Amy Winehouse, but I haven't really listened to Joss Stone. I suppose that means the tiny bit I heard of her didn't interest me much.

Put me down for Amy.

5-1 so far, to Amy...Please don't tell Joss.

I wouldn't want to upset her.

I've just read that Amy has gone into re-hab at The Priory--she seems to be in quite a bad way.
So lets hope she gets herself sorted out.

Yet another self proclaimed 'Perfectionist' finds herself in trouble.

Let's hope that Amy can see those Demons off, as soon as possible.

Thanks to Brian, I had heard of Amy Winehouse, and I bought her Cds. I'd never heard Joss Stone until she performed at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, and I've not bought any of her music. I'm sure both are fantastic artists, but I like bad girls, so I'm with Amy.

Notch up another one for Amy Winehouse.
I just cracked open her "Back To Black" CD.
It's bloody fantastic!! Love it!!
... definately one of the best CDs from a female artist I've heard in a long, long time.
