Just added a few days ago on youtube.... May 10/70 at the Ivor Novello Awards. Dusty seems a little out of breath! Not exactly an easy song to sing with all those lyrics and no chance to inhale. Interesting wardrobe and hairstyle... is she actually in there somewhere?

Thanks for posting this Linda.

Can't say it's my cup of tea - 'it' being the song, the hairdo, the outfit...anything else left to dislike?!!!!

Thanks Linda... I like that song, but its a very difficult song to sing 'live'...

Is that the 'House Is Not A Home' Wig?

...and I bet the motel where she stayed was missing a pair of curtains when she left, looking at that outfit!

I have this track on DVD, on the "I Close My Eyes & Count To Ten" DVD released by Universal, serial No. 982 939-2.

I don't think it is from the same show as "A House Is Not A Home" which was on the Burt Bacharach show I think in 1970. This was from another show, but don't know when.

Ivor Novello awards--May 1970, so it was close to the Burt show.

I was thinkin the same thing about staying in the dress Sparkie --I think the beads kept the front together

There's been a few of us who have 'had a bit of a go' at Dusty's outfit/hair........HOWEVER.......I wonder what some of us lot looked like in 1970?

Come on folks, lets see what you/parents were wearing/hairstyle in 1970 or thereabouts. This should be a laugh if nothing else! ...........I'll set up a new topic on the Day Dreaming Forum (thats if the Time Out Error doesn't get to me first...YIKES!!!! ).

I always think she was very brave wearing those wigs and hair-pieces.

There is no way I would have risked a wig going lop-sided or even a piece coming loose.

Can you imagine?

It would ruin your image forever.

I'm not sure I would be brave enough to wear such a cleavage! Goodness me, it's almost going down to her belly button!

Thanks for the clip Linda!!

I really love the song. I think it must be really difficult to sing. The best performance (in my opinion) that Dusty gave of the song was on the "Another Evening With..Burt Bacharach" show - where she also sang "A House is Not a Home" - unfortunately not on YouTube....yet!!

Here's another Dusty performance of the song on the "Rolf Harris Show"............

And here's the studio recording that Dionne Warwick made of the song in 1969...taken at a slightly slower pace..
