I think most people agree that 'Elvis the Pelvis' established himself as the 'King Of Rock N' Roll'..

But what I would like to know is, excluding Dusty:

In your eyes... WHO is the Queen Of Soul? plus an heir.

AND.....WHO is the King of Soul? plus an heir.

Only ONE name for each Coronation please.

However there CAN be an heir to each title if ya like.

This should be interesting.

Damn you woman - you make life difficult at times!
...however, here are my votes :-
QUEEN OF SOUL : Shirley Brown
HEIR : : Gladys Knight
(it used to be Aretha, but that was in the good old days)
KING OF SOUL : James Brown
HEIR : Dennis Edwards *
*former singer with The Temptations who has the most outstanding 'soul' voice

If I pretend that I haven't seen Brian's answer, I'd say Aretha and James Brown.

Heirs are too difficult to choose, and I'm only on my first hit of caffeine this morning, so I'll just leave it at that for now.

Queen: Gladys Knight
Heir: Roberta Flack

King: Stevie Wonder
Heir: Al Green

I had to leave Aretha off cause she's reportedly homophobic and that takes all the "soul" out of her for me. If she publicly repents her evil ways I'll reconsider.
