...can't let this day go by without acknowledging the loss of our beloved Dusty Springfield nine years ago.

"Every day I find, you're in my heart and in my mind...."
... ever since I was swept up into cyberspace and yanked down into Dusty World - four years ago. It's been quite an unexpected and exciting adventure so far. Dare I ask yet again ~ So Dusty.....what's next?

i went and paid a visit to Dusty at Henley this afternoon, i sat on the bench with my thoughts and the sun shone thru the clouds, that, made me smile
a rose for a rose

Those we love don't fade away, They walk beside us every day. |

I wanted to see these flowers again .....thank you for posting Dave and thank you for going to 'see' her.
I was away this weekend but played her non-stop on the two and a half drive home .

That was such a sad day 9 years ago.
But Dusty Springfield will live forever in our hearts.
Her music will still be played for many years to come.
Beautiful pics Dave. |

Please don't mourn for me I'm still here, though you don't see. I'm right by your side each night and day and within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I'm always near. I'm everything you feel, see or hear. My spirit is free, but I'll never depart as long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I'll never wander out of your sight - I'm the brightest star on a summer night. I'll never be beyond your reach - I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.
I'm the colourful leaves when fall comes around and the pure white snow that blankets the ground. I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond, the clear cool water in a quiet pond.
I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring, the first warm raindrop that April will bring. I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine, and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.
When you start thinking there's no one to love you, you can talk to me through the Lord above you. I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees, and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.
I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep. I'm the smile you see on a baby's face. Just look for me, I'm every place!
I was planning on going to Henley today too but had to have a change of plans at the last minute to help a friend in need so I'm glad someone managed to visit Dusty today, thanks Dave! I lit a candle here at home instead earlier this evening and had a quiet moment to remember!
Just a small footnote : another friend's cat gave birth to three kittens this evening and the first one was a girl so my friend called me and said as today was Dusty's anniversary they had decided to name the first born Dusty in her honour! I'm sure she would approve, I certainly did!!

That's a beautiful piece of writing, Sparkie...Thankyou.
What is it called?
Nothing could be more appropriate than to call a kitten, Dusty on the Anniversary of Dusty's death, we all know just how much Dusty loved cats.
She will most definitely approve.
