I'm more a fan of the lyrics and the image/attitude. The PSB are really snappy dressers. And the way that Chris and Neil present themselves, it reminds me of the Captain and Tennille Andy Warhol style.
The music itself is good but electronic music isn't my favourite. I can appreciate their talent for what it is. And they've done quite a variety of stuff over the years, depending on their whim of the day.

Before they worked with Dusty I wasn't that keen on them and I still don't like everything they do, but I have a lot of respect for them and Neil Tennant speaks very warmly about Dusty - so that's a good thing.
Oh and I do have some of their cd's!! |

Am a great lover of PSB's music, after hearing West End Girls some way back. Also their collaboration with Liza Minnelli with Results album - bought this on vinyl 1988 ish and only recently bought the CD - still sounds as good now as it did then. Some music has a timeless quality.

I liked The Pet Shop Boys from the moment I heard West End Girls. I bought the early CD's and then of course came the Dusty collaboration.
I think Neil Tennant is very clever in his delivery of the lyrics of their songs.

You should try and listen to two tracks....one from their album "Please- Later Tonight "
and from the album "Nightlife - Happiness is an Option" Two brilliant tracks.

I've not heard those two albums Louise, But I'll look out for them.. We used to have the album with 'Its a Sin' 'You were Always On My Mind' 'October Symphony' 'Heart' and 'Jealousy' on it... I can't find it and can't remember the name... but it was A goodie.
Dusty was quoted as saying that she nearly drove her car off a cliff when she first heard 'Westend Girls' on the car radio....
She always had brilliant taste.

Hm Carole, all the songs you mention are on the Pet Shop Boys- discography- The Complete Singles Collection...however minus October Symphony....So that can't be right then eh?
If you need anything let me know and i'll happily burn/upload for you.
Oh yes West End girls was a terrific song...Dusty had great taste.
