I apologise now if this is mentioned elsewhere!
Earlier this evening, I caught part of a Radio 4 programme which was previewing, among other things, the new ITV Drama set in the 1960s (starting 23rd March) called "He Kills Coppers".
Dusty was mentioned a myriad of times - the reviewer particularly remarked on a sequence in the programme which is underscored by, in his words, Dusty Springfield's "Ne Me Quitte Pas". Apparently another Dusty song is also used in the first episode, but they didn't say which one.
One to watch?

Thanks for the tip off Peter--I don't think it has been mentioned elsewhere. Certainly one to look out for.

I love programmes set in the 60s ...they hardly ever fail to mention Dusty...she was such a big part of the Sixties scene.

This new drama is loosely based on a Robbery that took place in 1966 at the West London Suburb of East Acton where three Policemen were murdered on a Street at a Housing Estate in cold blood, the perpertrator of this heinous Crime, Harry Roberts is still in Jail

Wow! Major Dusty music there - it was as if the whole final scene was choreographed around "If You Go Away" rather than the music being incidental. Powerful stuff! (Even if 1966 was not quite right).

Well, I saw most of it...and don't know what it was all about!...
'If You Go Away' sounded great, but it was played over pics of the aftermath of the cops being killed...
'I close my Eyes' was played earlier in the drama.
I was impressed with the music, but that was all.
Anyhow, Thanks for the tip off, Peter..

It was 1963...and they played 'I close my eyes and count to ten' from 1968!....but having the FULL version of 'If you go away' was lovely I couldn't follow it one bit !....but the music was great.

If You Go Away was really LOUD whilst I Close My Eyes was in the background, but it was great hearing a complete song as they usually fade them quickly.
I can't think of any other singer who is played as often as Dusty durings tv plays. |

I saw this too. It was nice to hear "I Close My Eyes And Count To Ten" and "If You Go Away"- even if it was against the backdrop of people being shot!
I thought the plot seemed very 'loose', maybe all the strands will be woven together in the second part? Rafe Spall was very hard to understand sometimes too - I thought so anyway.
Nice promotion for Dusty though.

| This series is billed as the sequel to The Long Firm, that soundtrack also featured Dusty and starred the excellent Mark Strong. |

Well managed to watch the first episode of He Kills Coppers afterall...ty to the private trackers
When that Jeannie showed up i thought for a moment Dusty walked in...I didn't think much of the serie itself, they smoked, and smoked, then smoked some more...But hearing Dusty was worth the watch.

I wonder how much more Dusty we'll get?
I think there are two more episodes to go...and the music is the only reason I'm persevering.
I do agree with you about the girl, 'Jeannie' Louise...She definitely had the Dusty 'look'...
Did anyone 'catch' Georgie Fame's version of 'Sunny' at the start?...
