Some Christmas madness!

Children at Chelmsford Cathedral school will carry a fluorescent "glow" stick and not a candle for fears that a candle could burn them.

Children at one school cannot send one another christmas cards but must send 1 card to the entire class. There were concerns that some children do not receive many cards and this could have a negative impact!.

Notice in a shop window--If you leave a glass of sherry for Santa when he comes down the chimney please leave a note warning of drink driving!

School near us were telling children to cover each prickle on holly with blue tack so they can't prick themselves!

Notice by Nursery selling Trees
If putting up a large tree carry out a full risk assessment, provide scaffolding where appropriate.

Don't call a fairy on top of the tree a fairy but a wand bearer--sign in a Village hall.

My contribution to all of this---
When singing In the bleak Mid winter the words--Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone--should be highlighted and marked with a trip hazard sign!!

Hi Carole T.....how ridiculous all this 'PC ness' is, I remember as a kid buying Fireworks!
Funny you should mention Chelmsford, as it's only up the road from me, and Sis and I were debating wether to go to that Cathedral for Mass on Christmas day or www.brentwood-cathedral.co.uk we finally decided on the latter!

I really cannot abide 'Political correctness', say the 'wrong thing' these days and you're arrested!

It saddens me that the Britain I once knew and loved has gone forever, whatever happened to the spirit of 'adventure', and 'competitive sports'.....more concerend with People's hurt feelings if they don't win I s'pose

It is time to remind people of how it was?
Light real candles on the tree, if you're man enough.
Put Mowtown on the speakers, invite the neighbours round for a proper drink, then roll into church and try and sing Christmas carols.
