So, which have been your faves and have you any current favourite 'funnies'?....
Are they NOT as funny as they used to be?Or have I lost my sense of humour?.... ...Don't answer that!
Please discuss....in your own time, of course..

I still love the British comedy classics...
Are You Being Served? Fawlty Towers Bless This House Love Thy Neighbour Mr Bean Black Adder
Can't think of any current funny sitcoms... Little Britain is more a skit show I guess.

My faves -
Benny Hill French & Saunders Mr Bean Ab Fab Keeping Up Appearances
My current obsession: Are You Being Served?
Of course, our Public Broadcasting Stations show them approx 20 years after they went off the air. Been purchasing DVD sets to get caught up.

Ah sitcoms!.....love 'em THE RAG TRADE DADS ARMY HI-DE-HI KEEPING UP APPEARANCES ALLO ALLO ARE YOU BEING SERVED? THE LIVER BIRDS GEORGE & MILDRED BLESS THIS HOUSE TERRY & JUNE WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE LIKELY LADS ROBINS NEST IT AIN'T HALF HOT MUM
The nearest thing we've come to a decent sitcom recently has been 'dinnerladies' which I'd have loved to go on forever...it was SO brilliant (as is EVERYTHING connected with Victoria Wood - our 2nd 'QUEEN VIC') Sadly, like music they cannot seem to do it like they used too anymore

Yes, 'On the Buses' was, and probably always will be my fave sit-com (closely followed by 'Terry and June'!)
I recall when the first movie of the show was released I stayed in the Cinema and watched it 3 times over! (you could in those days!)
I've seen Anna Karen 'Olive' in real life, she opened a bring and buy sale near me once and came dressed as her character, all bi-focals, nylon and polyester!
I also loved anything with Hylda Baker, such as 'Nearest and dearest', and 'Not on your Nelly', and can anyone recall 'Yus my dear' with Queenie Watts and Arthur Mullard.....all faves of mine!
and who could ever forget 'Some mothers do 'ave 'em'.....I'm in fits of laughter, then and now!

Porridge was my fav sitcom. I also liked Dad's Army, Steptoe, Fools and Horses, Rising Damp.
The modern ones to me aren't as funny.

For me the best Brit-com in a while, would have to be the English cricket team's efforts over here these past weeks. In case you missed it, we'll be screening the action again next Tuesday at the SCG.

I'm extremely tempted to ban this member from posting in future. Indeed, I am calling an extraordinary meeting of the admin team at 10 pm local time in order to discuss the future membership of this individual

Bailes and I will be lodging an appeal as soon as we've finished watching the Awards. That's the knighthoods being awarded to our players by the Governor General.

All members should be advised that once a decision has been reached by the admin team it is irrevocable i.e. NO appeals procedure.

After much deliberation and discussion leading into the small hours, it was decided by the administration team of the DSN that as this was the first occasion that this particular member had stepped out of line, that she and her cat Bailes be allowed to stay on board. She should note however, that ALL activity will be closely monitored.
