Just got in from seeing this film. Well worth a visit - Renee used her Miss Jones accent which I always thought was very well done. Lovely British scenery and costumes and an added bonus was Katie Melua singing over the end credits. Take some tissues cos it gets a bit sad....next film on my list is Dreamgirls. I have the LP up in the attic, might have to bring it down and refresh my memory of the tracks so I can do a singalong! Anyone fancy coming along with me? LOL

Thanks for your review Lynn, I was wondering about this film...
Now you've given it the thumbs up, I'll make a point of seeing it.
It'll do wonders for Lake District Tourism...Even Renee fell in love with the countryside up there...
Now then, whats this 'Dreamgirls' all about?

Thanks Lynn. I will definately go see Miss Potter next week. I'm not really a fan of Renee's but from what you've said it sounds really good.
Count me in for Dreamgirls. I can't wait to see it, it looks brilliant. From the advert it looks as though it's loosley based on the career of The Supremes. I hope it is as good as it looks

Miss Potter's not quite my cuppa tea, but Bab's is seeing it this Week with some Work buddies.
The next two Movies on my list are 'Bobby' (released in UK on 26 Jan), and 'Dreamgirls' (2 Feb).....there's trailers for both these Movies on the official sites, which can easily be accessed via the IMDB.

My poor husband - he'd just finished stowing away the xmas decs this morning and had put the ladder away when I said 'where's my dreamgirls LP then?' He went back up in the attic and half an hour later it was on the turntable.
I have some LP's I'd love to put on CD that haven't been released yet eg Diana Ross Last Time I Saw Him. I saw an advert for a turntable you plug into your pc for about £120, not sure if I want to spend that just for the sake of a couple of LP's.
Dreamgirls is loosely based on the Supremes story and was on Broadway in the beginning of the'80's. The music is more soul than motown. Just type Dreamgirls in your search engine and the website comes up with tracks to listen to and trailers. I can't wait! See you there Clare!

Sounds good to me too Lynn--Dreamgirls here I come. Miss Potter will have the effect of making the Lakes even more crowded than it already is! A bit selfish I know --but I like it quiet and not too overrun with tourists.
