Those of you that know me, know full well that I am entirely besotted with both Barbra Streisand (her of the 'nose') and Robert Redford. So, it was to my complete distraction all those years ago, when they starred together in 'The Way We Were'. (I KNOW he disliked her intensely, but please leave me alone in my fantasy!! Also the fact that she was quite happy to snog him after he had vomited after a little too much of the old scotch was perhaps even too much for this particular girl to contemplate, but hey..it was only a film!).
HOWEVER, to the point of this thread One of the scenes in the film was after Hubbell (Redford's character) and Katie (Streisand) split up. God they were meant for eachother BUT.....we know what makes good drama don't we people? (real life ain't far behind either) Hubbell's friend and he were out sailing and the friend kept referring to different years. What was your best year? Katie's year was the response.....What year was it when you wrote your best novel?....when I was with Katie.... you get the drift?
So people.....what was YOUR best year and WHY? (Footnote...I am not expecting any of our Aussie lot to comment on the cricket....final warnings are still on file please remember )
Well, i haven't thought of a year yet but i know what Janie means about the film "The Way We Were" and how poignant it was when they met up years later.
