The Wind was unbelievable here today...Gusts of 70mph!...

Yours Truly, very nearly did a 'Mary Poppins' earlier, the wind was so strong it nearly took me off my feet!....

'Up Up and Away' is the appropriate song for today...

Anyone else been blown about?...

Cxx

OMG!! I know! - Our pool was folded in half and a wardrobe was thrown around our garden! Some trees at school were over and we had to stay inside.

Matt - WHY oh WHY was there a wardrobe in your garden in the first place??!! Do you change to go out under the cherry tree??
The wind has been horrendous in Oxfordshire today, as well as torrential rain - it seems stronger than the 'great storm' of 1987.
Our village was cut off for three hours with trees blocking both exits - now the railway line is blocked by a fallen tree.
I was thinking of replacing the back fence anyway....but now the job is URGENT!

OMG!!!! You live in oxfordshire too!!! - I live in the measly town of Didcot.

The wardrobe was there because my Dad was taking it to the tip on sunday. (The one in Drayton) Here's a picture.

Its been very windy here too in the Midlands.
A tree has come down near the local shops and the local line to Brum was halted due to a fallen tree.
Still very bad now. A night in, in front of the TV tonight me thinks.

Well, having a delivery job ibn the English county of Essex, I've certainly seen a few things today!

Driving down Country lanes with bits of branches strewn the entire length, plus about 5 trees down, or about to fall down, main Roads closed with Police diverting the traffic, let alone the sound of Sirens all day long!.......one cul-de-sac I drove down I saw a wooden gate coming away from it's mountings, and when I witnessed that I became very apprehensive, thinking something was gonna come flying and hit me in the face (or eyes, which was my main concern), Thank goodness nothing did, but it was very, very scary out in the open air I can assure you!

The wind's been pretty bad here in London too - we were all sent home from work early after a tree fell onto two cars in the staff car park. It took me two hours to get home on the tube - it normally takes me 20 minutes!

Fences down, trees down, and a VERY muddy dog! I've been sloshing around in wellies all afternoon trying to prevent more fences flying through the air - no fences = dog will travel!!

It's been really windy up here in Teesside too. But nowhere near as bad as everwhere else by the sounds of it.
Be careful everyone

It was scary! I was actually considering ringin' in work sick cos I daren't go out, nearly got blown away at the bus stop, and roads were closed because of fallen trees.
