Good film on TV last night, 'The U.S versus John Lennon.'

All about the four year battle that he had with the US authorities to obtain a Green Card...

The Authorities were paranoid and very edgy about his stance on 'Peace' and feared that he could become a real force against War.

He did eventually get a Green Card, but was watched at every turn by the FBI..

Then in 1980, he was murdered, supposedly by a deranged gunman...

...Another rather convenient death.

You think it could have been set up by the FBI?

I loved the film "The US vs John Lennon" so much that when it was released on DVD I went out and bought it. IMO it's a must-have.

I read a book once about Mark David Chapman, and the author theorized that the FBI had been subliminally brainwashing him and conditioning him to think that he was working alone. It was an interesting theory, but sounds awfully far-fetched to me.

Here's something random: John is featured on my guitar. lol

To sum it up: We heard a lot about John's own strange opinion to his first family (Cynthia & Julian) and of course to Julian, his ideas of life, freedom and peace and last but not least the making of his personal music he made with the Beatles and alone.

Sometimes he wasn't this hero the people want to see in him for real. He will be no hero to me. He was never a hero to me.

Now I am asking you, could this all be a reason for you to stop listening to his music or to believe in John Lennon? Please tell me. What would you say? What would you think about it?

Luv, Sgt. Pepper

John was a hero to me because he was a human being, with more faults than virtues, but he spoke up when he believed in something. Anyone, famous or not, who speaks up about injustice, is a hero to me.

I'm in heaven... this week on satelite TV they're airing "The US vs John Lennon" 24/7. I turn it on when I'm ready to fall asleep and it's right there every time I wake up (I'm terrible at sleeping through the night)

Carole, there's really not much to tell about my guitar playing and singing, other than I love it and it's been more effective in shaping my life than therapy has been. It's a private pleasure, I don't play in public or anything, except when I teach Sunday School. My audience is kids ages 4-7. I used to perform in public (coffee houses, etc.) but I gave that up when I left college because I didn't have a venue for it, other than church, and I refuse to be contained by religious expectations. Anyhow, my guitar is the most animated friend I have. I'm very off-topic now, because that has nothing to do with John Lennon, other than my scribbling.
