Almost every gay person wishes they were straight - it would make life so much easier (but duller). But then artistry and homosexuality seem to have gone hand in hand since the beginning of time. Maybe if you don't wish to procreate, you create instead.

Many people with religious beliefs suddenly find themselves gay - clergymen, too. The late Cardinal Spellman of New York used to be known as Nelly to his friends. How do you square that away?
Well yes and no. Because birds of a feather flock together but, it's also a career that relies on being accepted by the general public, which, especially in the past, has been homophobic.
