I thought it worthwhile to open a thread in which we could show our appreciation of, or recommend particular TV progs that we've enjoyed..
The First One I would like to give a mention to is 'Victorias Empire' which has been showing on BBC for the past three Sunday Nights..and has now finished.
In it, Victoria Wood (The Fab Comedienne) has been going around the World, visiting the countries that formed The British Empire during Queen Victoria's reign.
It sounds abit dry and boring doesn't it?
But it has been the most interesting geographical prog I have ever seen.
Victoria managed to make it really interesting and her dry comments were brilliant and witty...Her presentation was 'matey' and friendly also. She seems like a genuinely nice, intelligent person.
She should be in line for an award for this...
Anyway thats MY first APPRECIATIVE post.

How I agree Carole! This programme is the best thing on tv right now. Victoria Wood, in my opinion, is a National Treasure, and sure to made a dame soon. She has contributed so much to tv over the past 30 years. You know ANYTHING she is involved in will be nothing less than brilliant.

| I'm quite enjoying 'The Museum' (BBC2 Thursday at 7.30pm). It goes behind the scenes at The British Museum. |

Thanks for that Wendy...I'll give it a whirl..
Programme that started on BBC2 9pm last night has potential..
Andrew Marr...'History of Modern Britain' started last night with the 1940s describing the aftermath of the war..
Next week 1950's, so I presume the 1960's will be in a fortnight ie 6th June...Should be good.
Strongly recommended.

Don't laugh... but I think Sesame Street is the best television program of all time.

| Now, I'm certainly not a royalist, but I really enjoyed Timewatch last Friday - behind the scenes at the Queen's coronation in 1953. |
