I saw a documentary about Frank Zappa a month or so ago, and thought that I might finally check out some of his music. He is/was an incredibly talented musician ( my opinion :)). Some of his songs have absolute vulgar messages and are 100% politically incorrect. But I actually enjoy alot of his songs... some of which I really just have to pay attention to the music and not so much the lyrics ;).
Does anyone else here like any of Frank's music or do you think his music to be in immense bad taste?.

When I was about six years old, my much older (and angrier) brother was a huge Zappa fan. I remember Frank Zappa scared the hell out of me. He was kind of like Wierd Al on a bad acid trip.
I can't stomach his lyrics, and I'm bad at ignoring them. So even though the music by itself is probably good, I can't do it.
I'd love to see a documentary on him, though. Do you remember where you saw it and when it was made?
The documentary I saw was The Frank Zappa Story I think.... and something in the title to do with an album of his called Overnite sensation. I saw it on SBS which is a tv channel over here, but I've seen it on DVD and I suppose it was made rather recently, but I could of course be wrong.
I found it incredibly hard to stomach the lyrics at first, still do actually but some songs I can take better than others haha.
