I attended a lecture tonight given by the author of a new book entitled Sacred Thames, by Peter Ackroyd.
He mentioned that many buildings of power, including churches, were built next to or near the river. Naturally, he mentioned St Mary's in Henley.
I asked him whether he knew about Dusty's grave. He had no idea. His eyes lit up, and he seemed very excited by the mention of Dusty. Perhaps he was a fan.

Fabulous Nicky!... I heard about this on the radio the other day..and I wondered whether Henley would be mentioned.
Peter Ackroyd is a well respected Author, as you will know.
He wrote a very informative book about London.
I'm SURE he'll be a fan.

If you love London, you gotta love Dusty, too.

Just been reading a review of this book. It gets 5 stars--so it must be good.

Sounds an interesting book Nicky, I'll see if my local Library can get hold of it; apparently the town of Henley had held a Literary weekend this weekend, they were expecting approx 3'000 visitors (according to BBC Oxford) and I thought to myself, 'Wow!.....3'000 extra people in Henley, where are they all gonna park'!!......still, I hope some of the visitors paid a visit to St. Marys too!
