I found this on the Royal Marsden Site;
News and events Celebrate a Life with us this Christmas at the Royal Marsden, London 29 NOVEMBER 2006 ARCHIVED RELEASES Select 2006 2005 2004 2003 2002 2001 2000 1999 Thousands of stars will adorn a Christmas tree at The Royal Marsden Hospital this month to celebrate the lives of loved ones who will be missed during the festive season.
‘Celebrate a Life’ gives friends and family the chance to sponsor a star on the tree, which will be lit up and displayed outside the hospital in Fulham Road.
All are invited to the lighting of the tree and short carol service at 5 pm on Thursday, December 14, followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
The ceremony will be supported by the Brass section of the Honourable Artillery Band and members of The Marylebone Choir.
Those who sponsor a star for £10 will have it hung from the tree inscribed with the name of someone special, and will receive a gold star badge as a thank you for supporting The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.
Celebrate a Life is one of the hospital's most popular events, raising more than £90,000 over the last three years.
All donations raised will go straight to where they are needed most, helping people who are fighting cancer right now.
Reverend Chris Lee, Head of Pastoral Care at the hospital, said that Christmas can be an extremely difficult time of year for those who have lost loved ones.
“We hope that Celebrate a Life not only brings people some comfort, but offers them a chance to remember and reflect.”
Anyone wishing to sponsor a star can do so at the Celebrate a Life website or call Malvin Sayle on 020 7808 2259 for more information.

You found it, Carole! This is the way I sponsored the stars in Dusty's name for the Xmas trees.

Thanks to Marg's calendar challenge, there will be at least one star in Dusty's name and one star in Mary O'Brien's on the tree this year.
