Iīm watching The Wizard Of Oz - new digitally mastered version, and loving it. Isnīt it THE fairytale in America, everybody has read or seen it? I did read the books too, as a kid, and itīs delicious to watch the movie as an adult .

My question is: who would you be if you were in the wonderful world of Oz? Would you be:

-scarecrow, searching for a brain ?
-lion, searching for courage ?
-tinman, searching for a heart ?
-or Dorothy, searching a way home ?

Love, Kat

Hey Lion!

I put this quote under the Who Said That? thread, but I'll put it
over here for you, also.

"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice
at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow." - Mary Ann Radmacher

Thanks for the answers, friends ! I think Iīd be a mixture of Dorothy and lion (lorothry, dion?), because Iīve gotten braver as the years go by, but I still need more courage to proudly live the life that suits me and I am litrally searching for a new house, a home, for me and my family.

No wicked witches of East or West here? I didnīt think so...

I also watched the documentary of making the film (with LOVELY Jessica Fletcher as a narrator) and it revealed to me that Judy Garland had a great sense of humour. She had something in common with out Dusty then.

Elphaba - the so called wicked witch of the west. She really is a sweetie!

Anyone seen the musical WICKED? Well worth a visit.

Don't walk behind me, I may not lead,
Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Just walk beside me and be my friend.

Nah, you arenīt anything like Miss Gulch, Clare... unless you absolutely WANT to be, then itīs a different case. You are friendly, funny and you love dogs... defenitely not Miss Gulch.

Have you ever wondered why rich, independent, powerful women are often described as ugly and nasty in old movies?

Aww thanks Kat

Women weren't supposed to be powerful in those days.
It's funny, for a film you would just think of as a kids flick, it's quite deep & the charachters are very symbolic.
(ooh, i'm starting to think too much now...it's far too late for this )
