I prefer Nellie the elephant
There really is NOTHING exciting from the 'newcomers' around...we have had flashes of inspiration from Razorlight, Scissor Sisters and a very good album from Amy Winehouse...but all these have been around for a couple of years now. Gone forever I fear are the days when music was TUNEFUL, EXCITING and INSPIRATIONAL....artists made it on TALENT and not HYPE. The next month will see Leona Lewis being the thing....we are 'told' ...........sums it up really?

For me this offering from Nelly Furtado is such a load of girly rubbish. Furthermore!!... Even the clip is boring. The clip is usually the best thing going for a song... unfortunately. The song has no form, no structure. It doesn't make my spine tingle. That's it from me! Sorry, Carole. Are you keen on this one? jane x |

No, it doesn't have any 'effect' on me, Jane... I just heard it, and thought it was a 'hummable' tune.
I'm thinkin that your'e not too keen? ..

Somebody, please shut me up sometimes. Think I should delete 'girly' from this sermon. Do you Carole? My apologies to all us girls.
Moving right along...Joanna Newsom. Could someone comment on her voice, her 'otherworldly charm'. I've just heard her for the first time.
jane, in a more mellow mood x |

Couldn't agree more, Brian
Non Janie xx (I'm going to have to permanently change my signature at this rate as none of the above do a thing for me)

What a strange little video that is Jane .
I never saw a harp being the main instrument on a pop song before...
The voice?...she definitely sounds like someone else, And its driving me mad, cos I can't put a name to it.
I first thought the voice was similar to Bjorks but I'm not sure now.
Anyone?

| When I heard this singer earlier today I thought of chainsaws, chalk scaping down a blackboard. Youtube refer to this as New Wierd America. This is true despair. |

Obviously underwhelmed and unimpressed....
Its a good thing Mika won't be relying on us for him to reach Top Of The Charts.
