Thanks Janie...Wow!...February 13th...Isn't that earler than we thought?

I notice that there are quite a few duets with deceased people.

Have we got a track list at all?...

I think the UK release for this is April, but not too sure.
Most of the tracks are old recordings, and again I think most are from TV shows,in fact the mastered recording with Dusty is possibly the most recent together with the Bobby Darin track which was recorded about 18 months ago,and released on one of his CD's.
The Sacha Distel recording is from about 1973 (without looking im my Petula Bible!)and is quite a rare recording,it is one of two tracks released only on a single at the time, and never made it onto a LP or CD.
The Harry Belafonte track is again from an American TV show from the 60's and caused quite storm at the time as Petula put her hand on Harry's arm, which in those far off days was definitely a NO,NO,as black and white just did not mix as we all know from Dusty's early visits to S.Africa.
I'll keep you posted if I hear any definite date for the UK release.

Bye Pete.

The last we heard from Paul Howes, Pete, was that it was a March release. We shall see!

In the Daily Mail 'Weekend' magazine there is an article featuring Pet Clarke.

It states that 'Duets' is released on March 12.

To quote from the text of the article it says
'In April, she will be returning to the stage as she embarks on her first major British tour in five years, and is also releasing a new album featuring duets with some of the famous singers she has met throughout her career - and outlived. Among then are Dusty Springfield, Peggy Lee, Dean Martin and Anthony Newley.'

For the Pet Clarke fans amongst us, for details of her concert dates you can visit www.ticketmaster.co.uk

The album can now be pre-ordered from Amazon. I didn't realise it will be an import to the UK - never dawned on me!

This is the Amazon.co.uk link

I thought it might be nice to have the lyrics to hand.

Lyrics - Corner of the Sky Lyrics

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lyrics
Corner of the Sky Lyrics
[PIPPIN]
Everything has its season
Everything has its time
Show me a reason and I'll soon show you a rhyme
Cats fit on the windowsill
Children fit in the snow
Why do I feel I don't fit in anywhere I go?

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky

Every man has his daydreams
Every man has his goal
People like the way dreams have
Of sticking to the soul
Thunderclouds have their lightning
Nightingales have their song
And don't you see I want my life to be
Something more than long....

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky

So many men seem destined
To settle for something small
But I won't rest until I know I'll have it all
So don't ask where I'm going
Just listen when I'm gone
And far away you'll hear me singing
Softly to the dawn:

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky
