Just another example of Dusty's several styles of singing:

Thanks Carole. I LOVE that performance.

I've heard that song "My Lagan Love" so many times sung by
many singers, but, hand-on-heart - this is the best version I've
ever heard.

The Lagan is the river that runs through Belfast, just in case anyone was wondering.

Here's the lyrics;

Where Lagan stream sings lullaby
there grows a lily fair.
The twilight gleam is in her eye,
the night is on her hair.

And like a lovesick lenanshee,
she hath my heart in thrall;
Nor life I owe, nor liberty,
for Love is Lord of all.

And often when the beetle's horn
hath lulled the eve to sleep,
I steal unto her shieling lorn,
and thro' the dooring peep.

There on the crickets' singing stone
she spares the bogwood fire,
and hums in sad, sweet undertone
the song of heart's desire.

Its lovely and has always been one of my favourites too.
Just the voice and guitar, I wish we had more of her doing this type of thing.
Dusty and a piano would have been good, but she always seemed to feel she needed the full orchestra.

Poor Warfaring Stranger is another example of this type of treatment and one I also love.

"The Water is Wide" is another favourite of mine that she sang
on her TV series.

I hope it's on the BBC dvd.

What a beautiful voice, and so versatile!!

Paul.

Beautiful! I don't often see Dusty behind the guitar. Thanks for sharing.

I swear, she could have sang anything and made it real.
