I'm so sorry Brian. I have seen what a stroke does to a person and can only think it is better to go than to live with the terrible effects.
No great comfort I realise

Iīm so sorry for your loss, Brian! Thereīs one thing in life that Iīm truly afraid of - itīs losing friends and loved ones. It has happened to me too and only thing that made it a bit easier for me was to know that it was such a great gift to have them in my life. I didnīt own them and their destiny wasnīt in my hands.
I hope youīll feel better day by day and are able to enjoy the memories.
Love, Kat

Today I attended Allan's funeral, surrounded by his many friends, all sad but so very grateful to have known him. Allan had chosen to 'go out' (his words) to Shirley Bassey singing "The party's over...it's time to call it a day"...it was SO BEAUTIFUL - a fabulous song with lyrics to 'die for' (his words - again). A fitting tribute to a great bloke. Once again, thank you all for your kind words over the last few weeks - they meant a lot to me.

..all sad but so very grateful to have known him..
I think that phrase says it all, Brian.
What a wonderful tribute.

Yes, thanks for sharing Allan's friendship with us. Funerals seem so final in one way, yet in another way totally insignificant..... you'll always have Allan's friendship to cherish.
It's a great song that Allan chose.

Its strange how funerals can be sad yet beautiful at the same time--and that song is beautiful and sums up our life on earth.
I was in a church in Rome this last week and some beautiful music was being sung it was so uplifting yet quite sad. Take care Brian.
