Any tips on how to reach Battersea Power Station tomorrow morning - when South West Trains have replaced half the regular train service with a bus, which may, or may not stop at Surbiton?

Originally it was going to be a Halloween party...but I've gone off the idea. I think after all the trials and tribulations of the last week we need to 'chill out'...SO I've booked us in for a tour of Walls ice-cream factory in Gloucester, next Saturday.
Please meet outside the gates under the statue of a strawberry 'mivvi' at 10am prompt.

Mmmm Strawbwerry Mivvis...I remember them well...

Is this statue 'Lifesize'? or more like a Magnum?..

...and if its a hot day (as if) do I just look for a little pink pool?..

Perhaps Trek could pop in on her way from the Airport..

I'll tell her there are free samples...that'll get her there ..no prob!..

A couple of interesting facts :
Firstly the statue is 22ft high - made of bronze, and will not melt.
Secondly - it hasn't been hot in Gloucester since 1976.

Trek will be allowed a choc ice in preference to a mivvi - should she so desire. Obviously she won't get the stick in the end (so to speak), but in this life we make choices don't we?

Hey Tootle...Is there a 'dress code' for walking around Walls?

No, I don't mean like The Great Wall Of China!...

I mean th'ice cream factory.

Its gonna be cold in there..
It'll probably be a FAKE fur and boots job...
Not forgetting thermal nik-naks...

Oh dear I feel another shopping trip coming on.

Its a good thing Tootsies Tours are so 'reasonable'..

It costs me a bomb to get kitted out!

I suggest fur-lined knickers (see Damart catalogue page 58), some nice comfortable leather boots, and something that can be easily 'heated up' (Carmen rollers?).
Ear muffs may be a good idea also, as we will be going into the freezer section.

Well (I THINK) it was a success.
After a night at Gloucester Royal Infirmary having treatment for frostbite I'm home. Boy was it COLD in the Walls factory
I've gone off ice cream right now.
Next 'visit' will be somewhere warmer.

Well I missed the trip to Walls as the bus driver drove straight past and I ended up at the Walls sausage factory.
Still the hot dogs were good and more fitting for the chilly weather after the heat of my South of France fact finding trip. I discovered a stall there that sells 77 different ice cream flavours including cactus, lavender, and coconut.
They have 78 flavours now since I sold them some sprout flavour.

Trek onwards and upwards

Why is it that everywhere we go, someone lands up in either prison or hospital?

Is this why I can NEVER get Travel Insurance??

Coming from the frozen North of England I was able to cope with the freezing conditions which we encountered in the Ice Cream Factory.

Unfortunately Toots was 'overcome' by the cold and last time I saw him, he was shivering and shaking in a roll of aluminium foil...

...Lets hope he doesn't end up in someones oven!!!

I've warmed up now, and have been thinking
With the winter coming on I think our next trip will have to be somewhere with HEAT.
As luck would have it this morning the postman brought me the new winter catalogue from 'DAMART', and they are doing 'factory visits' for people who have purchased before.
In conjunction with 'SAGA TRAVEL INSURANCE' we can get a discount of 30% for groups of five or more.
What do you think? Have you ever wondered how they get the 'thermal' into gussetts? What IS elastic made of? How can slippers be 'FLUFFY' & 'WARM' at the same time?
This is an educational visit, so we must be on our best behaviour and not blow raspberries etc.
Friday this week is free - 1pm ...shall I book?
