Please don't be confused if I turn up in an entirely different vehicle - my boyfriend's borrowed my car and the regular rat van is in the body shop.
Where are we anyway??

I'm on my way early this morning - just left Llandudno Junction.
The main road runs alongside the railway at this point, and I think I've spotted Trek belting along in the Reliant, followed closely by Loony in 'This is not-a-rat-van'.
As a special treat I've had some t-shirts printed for you all to wear - bearing the slogan 'GLOWORMS'R'US' on the front, and 'I'VE GOT WORMS' on the backside
They are in a nice shade of yellow with green edging, and will become collectors items in the future.

We are running a bit late due to Pen wanting to have her photograph taken against the station with the longest name.
However I manged it, but had to step back quite a long way.
I WISH she'd lose some weight

Well our little group searched high and low and this was the only
glow-worm we found--perhaps we will have better luck in the dark.
As if we haven't enough old boilers already

Well here we are creeping about in the undergrowth by the Menai bridge, and just look what we have found--its all so exciting.

After a night crawling about on all fours under the bridge I feel like David Bellamy! It was very interesting searching for gloworms and quite different from anything I've ever done (we won't mention the 'problem' I had in '66 in Paris and the snails).
Trek was the winner, finding 9 'glows' (although one was a bit dull).
Pen kept complaining about having wet feet and 'it's not a thing a lady of my calibre should be doing', but we ignored her
I must say I was impressed with Loony's boilersuit with the slogan 'VERMIN ON THE RIDICULOUS' - can you get them in M&S ?
I'm now leaving Wales.

With the price of electricity this year, those Glo's might save me a few bob...
And I'm nothing if not mercenary...

Where's next Boyo??

Ivor Glow worm in my box...

It seems you all got very excited over the worms, which goes to show just how wonderful these visits are for your minds.
I am thinking about the next trip right now......however I would like to announce a future trip in December to wet your appetite - and give you time to save :-
WE ARE GOING TO LAPLAND!
On December 20th there will be a flying visit to Santa in his grotto - leaving from Manchester Airport for convenience.
You will be able to sit on Santa's lap in Lapland, give him your Christmas 'wish list', and in turn make an old man very happy
The cost of the trip will be slightly more expensive than normal, but it's a 'once in a lifetime trip' (unless we go again next year).
Included in the trip will be a free pair of snow boots, some Newberry fruits and a selection of nuts. The duty-free allowance will be the same as Finland.
The tour company have quoted a price of £99.76 per person, but if we get a group of 10 or more a 25% discount will apply (but the Newberry fruits will be replaced with chocolate brasils)
...more details will follow

..in the meantime keep November 4th free in your diary - the date of the interim trip

The answer is..NO ....you get what your given in this life, and be grateful. Anyway why do you think all those poor people in the Newberry fruits factory toil away all year, if it's not for us to eat their product at Christmas? You never see them any other time of year do you??
Although I'd like to tell you interim is in Switzerland - it's not, so your up the creek with that one as well However your request for a cuckoo clock is being looked into - providing you can answer the following question:-
"What makes YOU tick"?...and also "What makes you go cuckoo every hour"??

It's funny you should mention 'things' that you only see at Christmas...

Mmmmm wait for it...

DATES! ..why do I only EVER see boxes of dates at Christmas-time?

AND, why does nobody ever eat them?

Dates?...Sprouts?...oh we are getting in the Christmas spirit now
I'm not in a bad mood really...just it was my day off and it peeded with rain all day...and all my 'jobs' were outside!
Anyway Blanche cheered me up on 'Corrie' tonight, so much so I had an idea...shall we have a day out in Manchester next? It will be fun for all of us who know very little about Manchester, 'cept it rains.
I need some hairnets for Auntie Maud's Christmas stocking, and I know you can get them 'up there', and some black puddings for 'hamper-fillers'. I did geography at school.

We could go for rides on the trams up North, and take a barge on the Manchester ship canal.

Pen has hit the nail on the head again!
I was in a bit of a turmoil trying to think of somewhere DIFFERENT and UNUSUAL when she mentioned sprouts.
After contacting the EEC HQ, I find they do regular visits to the sprout fields of Belgium, so I've booked us a day trip on November 4th. We will tell Trek it's a 'bulbfield tour' as we know she gets over excited when s***** are mentioned. It will be a big suprise for the old golfer won't it?
Eurostar will be the mode of transport to save us being 'frisked' at the airport,..and we can eat our own sandwiches on the train.
Itinery will follow shortly.

Why don't we go to Ilkley Moor?
Just to be ironic we could have a Best Hat contest, where the winner gets to leave their hat on (Do I hear Tom Jones somewhere?........)
